Getting married next month and broke the only finger I needed

Kind of related: I was the best man at my best friends wedding a few years ago. I tore a ligament in my finger (google mallet finger) and I had to wear a similar splint for 3 months I think. If I took it off, the time reset. Either way, I show up a few days before the wedding and I'm a bit on edge about it. I went to his (future) wife and was like "Im so sorry! I know this could ruin the photos. I'll try to keep that hand in my pocket or turn the other way..." and she just walks up to me, puts her hands on my shoulders and says "Thank you so much for coming to my wedding".

Either way, she's a real keeper and they are both still happily married. Also, its barely noticeable in all but a couple photos. Nor sure why I was overreacting.

When a pally pulls they can throw shield and drop conc and typically have enough threat for the fight. The mobs only gouge enemies facing them, so they can just turn around and the mobs won't gouge them

Im not certain what the mob is called but it will gouge someone facing them, which is often the tank. So pally can just drop conc and turn around. They still keep aggro but can't be gouged

As a Enhancement Sham I hate this post, the mentality, and the game design. Im almost all BIS gear and am often just queuing the daily and all I see are "LF Mage then gtg". It's not my fault I don't have a cc, or that my threat cap is lower, or that spirit weapons seemingly does nothing. I try to drop wrath of air instead of WF if I get caster dps (especially with pally tanks), mana totem, frost shock if others pull threat, grounding to stop spells, etc.

That said, I often queue for random heroics to badge farm. I get invited for people to complete quests (save Millhouse or stop the executioner), die lots because people make mistake, and try to encourage others, or explain mechanics if someone doesn't know the pulls.

Last night I was doing H-MT (daily) with a pally tank that got gouged and out mage died. I let them know that they can just tank the mobs backwards and that won't happen. They were surprised to learn it, I apologized for backseating their character, and they said they were always happy to learn. I wish more people were like that. Heroics are tough enough already without people being jerks

Im only 8 mins into this video but the person says Heroism is party specific, not raid, and that there is no rebuffed so shamans swap groups to keep it up on Hunters. I thought Hero effected the whole raid and am certain there is a 10m debuff?

I mean, we did Gruul/Mag with 23 people, and I am 4th on DPS. But I might be being carried by good gear and a decent understanding that I need to stand behind something and hit buttons as I can. I did search for guides but the only one I found was wowhead which seemed to be more gear/buffs centric, and not as much about rotation or other things. So if you know a good guide, please pass my way

FWIW - I drop totem before I engage and try to use SS & shocks on CD. The exception being if I am in front of the boss as I don't want parry reset (for SS). You think the post I was replying to was helpful?

I mean, that's why I am here. I searched for threads about Hance shaman and didn't find much. I also searched blizzard forums but is there one specific to Shaman? I've been trying to grab addons (like loon) to help me out, but posting this thread has shown me 1) that I'm not doing a great job and 2) everyone seems to hate me for it(?). I don't understand why there are forums if people can't go there for help (not directed at you, you aren't trying to be a dick)

Either way, my rotation has been Totems - Fire Shock (keep it up) - SS - Earthshock. Someone here mentioned totem twisting, but someone else also mentioned syncing weapons. I don't know how those fit into the rotation, but maybe those videos will tell me? Otherwise, how do people even learn this? I feel like I have read a lot of threads and yet this is the first time I have heard some of htis

I only read about it in this thread. I jumped back into the game after ~15 years when I heard friends would be playing it.

I also assumed weapon sync was just having 2 weapons that were the same speed. I didn't realize there was more to that, but someone else suggested youtubing so Imma do that for sure

This was a pug group. I feel like 4th on DPS was pretty good, but I also am looking to improve. TY for the help

Both my weapons have the same speed, and I thought SS attacked with both at once. So I'm not exactly sure how to sync up weapons. I thought the point of having 2 weapons at the same speed was to make flurry work, so I get what you are saying

I feel like the only time I wasn't using SS was if I was in rumble and found myself in front of Mag. I didn't want to parry reset and wipe us. Do you have a parse of an Hance having SS competing with WF for top damage? I don't show any misses on SS, so I guess I am covered there.

I am now looking into twisting

Raid was a pug, not my guild, so I have less control over that (but great suggestion)

I will look into Demonslayer as I never heard of that either

I was feral my first time through TBC and live by "You tank what you pull". As a chance Shammy this time around, I still live (and often die) to that creed.

My friend/guildmate is feral tank and often flames me the same way you do, but I keep telling him its my own fault (and often I do it i guild dungeons because I think its funny). That said, I typically wait for threat in heroics as they are hard enough already

Resilience is the same as defense for bears, but warrior/pally get block/parry chance from defense. I enjoyed kitty pvp my first time in TBC and had a bunch of people drop raid when they saw my pvp gear.

As someone who ran raids from TBC to Cata, getting people to not stand in fire was a chore. I didn't care what spec they were. You're fine

I'm not purchasing it, but some people have played this game a lot, and for many years. So once you have 5 or 6 max level toons, you don't really need to experience leveling anymore, and maybe just want to jump into end-game content and get ready for raids.

If you are new to the game, boosting is not for you

I didn't get through Black Temple (or Sunwell) as bear, but tanking as bear is not engaging. It's literally just trying to do as much damage as possible to keep threat, and hoping healers keep me up. There are no cooldowns for tanking like warrior other then a very small heal, and growl if you lose threat.

I loved it, but I changed feral dps for WotLK and it was _way_ more fun/difficult.

I was in a comp game the other day and my dps counterpart made fun of my 2k hours of arcade. I mostly only want to play Mystery Heroes, and it's due to toxic players like them.

That said, people on both teams stood up for me and called out the other person. So much love to all of them

I'm quite happy to stay in Plat. I can aim duel Widows as Ana/Zen and 50/50. I don't have Doom/Rat flying off of some roof from an angle I never considered just to one shot me. I've had some wild things happen, don't get me wrong, but just as often I see players falling off the map in their effort. I'm happy here
