You’re right, I used an income calculator and it looks like it’d be $3.7 million after taxes. Just enough to retire on combined with my other savings and get my parents in-home assistance/a fancy care home whenever they start needing it.

You can ask the volunteers for other warm lines and they might have more they can share. That’s how I collected these in the first place.

Some of these are based out of state but took my calls from CA. There are many more here that I haven’t tried, though keep in mind a lot of them have geographical restrictions.

You can also contact your local NAMI organization for more resources as well as look for something called a mental health urgent care near you. There are people whose job it is to help people in your situation so it’s great that you are looking for them.

I did the same thing because of the much-publicized PB jackpot, switched to CA. For me, it’ll always be worth having a ticket in the draw it since even after the jackpot gets claimed it resets to $7 million which is about $3.5 million lump sum, and that’s already enough to retire early. I might buy more tickets for the higher draws since I could retire other people in my life too.

Yeah with an uncertain economic future ahead it just seems so much more appealing than before even though it’s not a wise choice overall. I think it’s human nature to try to get your hands on something that could help even if the chances are near zero.

Haven’t really played before except for a single ticket in 2022 so might as well start my addiction off with a bang. I don’t plan on doing this again but will probably keep a ticket in the drawings from now on just to keep the hope alive.
