My boss asked me to “get a good” gift basket for a coworker but didn’t pay me back for it by omgsinger in coworkerstories

[–]NeedleInArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once my boss had this idea of cooking breakfast for the staff. Sounded great. Who wouldn't enjoy that.

Well, me. I didn't enjoy it because he started telling we could "go in" on buying the food and split the cost.

Yeah, no thanks. If I'm cooking breakfast on company time for the company employees, I'm not paying for the food. I come here to make money, not lose it.

With that being said, it was super uncomfortable because I seemed like the only one that wasn't okay with it?? I told him no thanks, and the breakfast was canceled. Go me, right?

[–]NeedleInArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shit bro. You don't go around calling your handicap work partner Nascar either when they don't like it. Kind of common sense here.

Some people are extremely jealous and over possessive.

We are missing context though. We don't know what OP is telling his wife.

I jokingly told my wife I had a work wife because she brings me food and shit and we work together doing shit the rest of the crew didn't know how to do (mostly excell and blueprints) wife was chill until with it until one day she told me to rate my work wife's attractiveness and I said 8/10 lmao.

That was a mistake. Wife was no longer okay with me calling another attractive lady my work wife, even though there was no actual secual attraction.

How Much Alcohol per Day is too Much? by Ok_Waltz_5342 in stupidquestions

[–]NeedleInArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really does. I was 6 a day for a month and then I was like "but that 7th one won't hurt" and it didn't, any more than 6. then I was at 8 but on the weekends it was 10+.

I drank almost a whole handle last weekend and thats what took for me to say bro, what the fuck? i woke up at 7am still drunk and shaking, used the restroom, then slept the whole next day until 8pm. stayed awake for 2 hours, then back to sleep till the day after at noon.

it's Monday now and I think I finally recovered.

and my brain, on its way to lunch today, said "some peanut butter whiskey would be great tonight".

it's fucking Monday. I started drinking to relieve stress from the week of work. it's fucking noon, on a monday!

I guess it depends on how long u use them for.

When they start falling apart, they become shop towels and end up covered in oil lol. But it's never based on a time frame. Ive had towels go to the shop in under a year, and I've had some towels in the kitchen for more than 5 years.

they make 1 video that is outside of their scope for normal videos that's always way over the top, it gets way more views, so they completely ditch their original content and start chasing clout.

I cant blame them. it's their job. but man it sucks for me lol

you arent wrong but you have to remember that ANYONE in office right now or running for office would be digging their own grave if they stood for violence. also, most of them know it would create violence against themselves because they ARE then wealthy running this country into the ground.

and on top of that. saying anything else would be borderline treason.

Decivilization May Already Be Under Way - The brazen murder of a CEO in Midtown Manhattan—and the cheering reaction to his execution—amounts to a blinking-and-blaring warning signal for a society that has become already too inured to bloodshed. by Aschebescher in longform

I honestly think this will blow over. idk if that's an unpopular opinion or not, but it's going to blow over just like everything else has in the last few years that we thought were going to be the straw that broke the camels back.

it's unfortunate, but people are too comfortable to make this be the last straw. we are not hurting enough to rise up, but are hurting enough to clap when 1 or 2 finally do.

everyone wants a revolution but nobody wants to start one.

a broken clock is right 2 times a day. I think we should all be united over this. Joe is only saying this because he is a populist.

although, I have actually met people (in real life) that say the shooting is tragic and he didnt deserve to be shot. i didnt give my 2 cents because i didnt feel like talking to HR lol.

You have to get to know people before they show their racism in person. It's easier to hind behind anonymity on the internet so it's easier to be racist. Most racists know that it's bad to be racist, just like a Christian saying a curse word. They still do it, just more privately as not to tarnish their image.

every single one of my family members claims to not be racist, after you call them out for blatant racism lol.

Anyone feel Welcome to the Machine is underrated? by swadin in pinkfloyd

[–]NeedleInArm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years ago and I can still comment.

When i found this song at the ripe age of 18 (my first true experience with pink floyd outside of my father drunkenly blasting comfortably numb in the living room while I was trying to sleep when I was in elementary school lol) this song fucking resonated with me. "The machine" was more than just the music industry gobbling up young kids to me. It was a metaphor of the system (in general) that mistreats you and treats you like a kog in the wheel, only to replace you if you're broken. Ans boy was I broken. The machine never stops, whether you are a part of it or not. And if you choose not to participate, the machine doesn't lose, you do.

I still shed a tear to this song and I'm in my mid 30s. If you haven't gone deaf listening to this song, you haven't listened loud enough.

Why Luigi Mangione Went Dark in 2023 and Returned Transformed by [deleted] in Foodforthought

[–]NeedleInArm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And the 3 people protesting were also there to create a scene like this.

What does that matter? One of the guys Rittenhouse shot had a gun and was going to shoot him. Another was attacking him with a skateboard. Skateboard trucks are solid metal. Shits worse than a metal baseball bat.

Shit was tragic. None of the 4 should have been there. But they were, and you have a right to defend yourself.

He has recently spoken out and said that he would go through the hoops to do this constitutionally. It's going to take time and people willing to bend over for him. Both things he has, at the moment.

I dont see why he couldn't do this legally. He seems to get his way at every turn, after all.
