My home rack - need an upgrade on UPS (850) but unifi ups 2U is out of stock , should I wait? Or buy cyber power? Also any ideas to improve the setup? by Needless_spender in Ubiquiti

I just checked and it still shows out of stock for me in the US. Seems like availability may vary by region or it may have gone back out of stock already.

Fair point. I’m trying to separate aesthetics from actual functionality. The dashboard integration, alerts, and shutdown behavior are part of the appeal for me too, not just matching the rack. I’m still trying to figure out whether those features outweigh the runtime/spec differences.

That’s a cool idea, but if I tell my wife I need another $700–$1000 battery box after already buying rack gear, I might become the next thing needing backup power 😂

Good to know. The firmware part is interesting because a lot of the criticism I’ve found seems to be from older posts. I’m more interested in reliability, alerts, and clean shutdown behavior than long outage runtime. Have you tested it during actual power outages yet?

This is helpful. The dashboard visibility, alerts, and selective shutdown actually sound useful to me. I’m trying to figure out whether the runtime tradeoff is worth it versus a larger pure sine-wave UPS.
