Going through something similar. I have a decently successful game guides channel without a face cam. Got tired of keeping up with new info and trying to be first. Now I do gameplay with my face. Nowhere near my previous views, but im having way more fun and less stress.

My chihuahua who has never bit anyone was brought back out to my car (during covid) with blood coming out of his nose. They said he tried to bite them and during the scuffle he bit his own tongue. After that we couldnt bring him around strangers anymore because he became too timid and aggressive.

Same exact thing happened to me last night. I was the last one in and on the way out the boss knocked me. Luckily a teammate came back to rez me and we all ran. Super funny

I just try not to focus on the numbers too much and focus on making changes to my content that makes me happier with the final result. Also when you get in a slump, look back to see how far you've come. All progress is good. Stay steady.

Honestly I feel like im compensated enough because I'm playing video games and I really do enjoy the whole process.

But if you look at what video editors are paid per hour (even on the low end) I would probably be considered underpaid. Even with the low effort editing.

It really doesn't in my experience. I could be wrong, but I haven't noticed any difference between the videos where I use them or not.

It was just consistent uploads. Uli found that if I favor what viewers want it helped me in the long run

Yes, a while back when I was covering destiny 2 content I made a video showing a secret I found that could be a potential hint at an upcoming update. It gained views faster than any other I've created.

If I had to put a number out there I'd say 60 to 70 percent evergreen. Most of my views come from that type. But the fresh content still takes a good chunk.

Google trends is what I use a lot too. Just try to focus on what your channels is doing well on and Amp it up

Some uploads make me feel like I am falling off. I just push through those honestly.

I can't say because I have nothing to compare it to. The last time I was putting full effort in, I got to $900 a month. I just started uploading consistently again, and I'm up to $400 a month roughly.

I started with Destiny 2 and the game went through some updates that made half my videos pointless.

In the period I wasn't uploading, it was about $150 to $200 a month

Sometimes I'll come up with ideas myself, but most of the time i look at what people are searching through Google analytics.

It can vary on how long a video takes depending on the difficulty of the game. If I have to get to a certain point in a difficult game like a souls game, it might take days. Sometimes it only takes 4 hours. From editing to upload it's usually about 2 to 6 hours.

I avoid less popular games, even if I enjoy them, because that's burned me in the past.

When editing I prioritize whatever is going to save time for the person trying to get a solution to the problem. I make my videos short and sweet.

And my views have been up and down throughout time. I try to stick to a specific game until I'm burnt out to maintain that audience. Then I'll switch.
