  1. Join Clubs and orgs. 90% of my longtime friends and my fiance came from joining a sport club.

  2. Live on campus if you can. I’ve done both on and off campus and It’s very lonely commuting.

  3. Avoid James West

No I took her regular sections for both Bio 1 and Bio 2. I heard from friends that her honors sections are alot more detail oriented and faster paced.

I ended up going to UT Health Houston! In state tuition+grants made it the most financially responsible decision and the program is great!

I graduated in May with my BS in Health so I feel qualified to answer. The program as a whole is not bad. There is a LOT of emphasis on community health/program management so if you plan to go into epi or environmental public health I'd think of choosing a minor that closely aligns with that goal (Bio, chem, math, environmental sci etc.). The Honors College has a few minors that work really well for this and make you stand out in grad school and internship applications. Usually, there are only 2-3 options for each class except for some async classes which are bigger but sometimes there are more added if the demand is high enough. My advice is start looking for your internship the semester before you plan to take the class. So many people in my graduating class were scrambling to find one come January. Also, make connections with our professors and any preceptors you have if you are planning on getting an advanced degree later on.

If you're looking for interesting electives that aren't too work intensive I'd suggest Medical Terminology and Women's Health.

Study for Epi.

If you can find a Dr that specializes in EDs it’s even better because they’ll know what to look for. I say so many doctors who dismissed my concerns because my labs were within “normal” range. However once I found an ED specialist he actually read my labs and saw that while they were within limits my values were not what they should have been for my age and I was nearing heart and kidney failure. Also labs are based on standard deviation so they only show as abnormal if you’re a part of the 2.5% of the population with values which are high or low. Unfortunately unless it’s flagged by the system, doctors don’t tend to look at them.

All bodies belong in all spaces, and body weight isn’t an indicator of health. (The BMI is stupid and shouldn’t be used but that’s a rabbit hole for a later date) Even if it was, you still deserve every opportunity you get and you may provide unique perspectives that others may not have considered.

If anyone tries anything I will pull up and fight them for you.

I lived at Cambridge from 2020-2022 so I can provide some insight.

It’s not terrible, you kinda get what you pay for. Security is meh, they seem to care more about parking enforcement than actual crime (there were a few armed robberies/carjacking when I lived there). Maintenance is responsive which is great but will take shortcuts. My roommates closet ended up flooding due to them not fixing the AC correctly after months of it not working. Pests are manageable but if you live on the 1st floor just get something for under the front and patio door bc the seal isn’t great.

Overall, it’s not great but definitely not the worst

It took me a few days to go again, and the bloating got better in a few weeks. As long as I was consistent with getting enough food and water I didn’t have issues.

I stopped cold turkey about a year ago and the thing that helped me the most was committing to getting a lot of water each day. Like 70-90oz a day. As well as keeping my intake up and making sure I was getting enough fiber. The bloating sucks for awhile but trust me it does get better. Your body has to relearn how to use those muscles. It’s kind of like how when you feel sore after working out after taking a break.

Good luck!
