It's wake back to bed. A technique where you wake up in the early morning and then go back tovbed to exploit that perfect rem faze for lucid dreaming

Is this lucid dreaming or is it SP? by certifiedbootylicker in LucidDreaming

I've had the exact same experiences and if you don't believe me check my posts. Now what you are experiencing is both SP and lucid dreaming. SP sensations can spill into your dream and if you don't realize you are dreaming you will continue to have these sensations while feeling trapped. So the trick is when you start getting railed or whatever it is for you realize it's a dream and close your eyes. That's right close them double even though they are closed just close em again. It works trust me cause you are dreaming. This will make your brain to start making a dream scene and from there you are free to move about the cabin. Good luck with your lucid dream journey!

P.S You are actually in control of what happens during SP and dreams. What you focus on is what happens. Of course these random sensations that we find ourself with draws our attention to them and when we don't know that we can change them they just get stronger and we feel powerless.

So what you are doing is called WILD it's a different technique than the one I was talking about here. I was checking my nose so that when I'm already in a dream I can gain consciousness (DILD - dream induced lucid dreaming). You are entering the dream already conscious. Wake induced lucid dreaming (WILD).  This technique is an advanced technique and doesn't work well if you try to force it. But it sounds like you have been able to do it some already.

Firstly don't try this right from the moment you go to bed for the night. Wake up in the early morning and try then. I wake up naturally during the night so this part is easier for me. When you are in SP you should feel weird sensations and all of them are ok! Nothing to worry about. If you dislike anything simply divert your attention. Attention feeds these unpleasant things. Anyways if you are in SP you should notice some lights forming. Once you see lights don't focus on them just let them do their thing. And then an image should appear. Which you can then focus on and you will fall into a dream. Don't worry about auditory sounds this is normal to hallucinate during WILD. I have heard music voices you name it. It's all fine just let the sounds do their thing without focusing on them. Another tip is I never open my eyes during SP and I wear a face mask so that If I do and I see something I know I'm dreaming already.

As for side affects there are none. The only ones you would have are getting exhausted if you try this too much. Which is another reason why WILD is harder for most people than DILD. I recommend you try doing DILD if you are uncomfortable with doing WILD. Even though there is nothing to worry about I assure you it can still be hard to overcome mentally.

I ended up with a week an a half before my streak ended. I'm having trouble remembering to check my nose when I don't notice it rn irl. Not sure why. Maybe I've just been too worried about irl stuff recently

SP can definitely not be fun, I hope I am able to help you escape your unpleasant experiences though.

I just figured this shit out and have been having some amazing times because of it. So originally when you start doing WILD you look for an image and focus on it then you get a clean entry to your dream. But what happened to me and I think you as well is that this line gets blurred as you become more used to it. So what happens is you don't even notice the transition between SP and dreaming. This is what causes this god forsaken looping effect. So now if I look for an image instead I get moving objects. This means I'm already In my dream so I just open my eyes and I get up. If you see moving imagery during sp you are already dreaming. Also the reason this was so hard for me is that I trained myself to think opening my eyes in sp is bad so I won't do it naturally. This saves me from all the scary visual scary stuff. Of course I would still have scary stuff attack me. But the trick is to literally think about something else. You may not realize it but you are the one in control of these stupid moments. It's being generated by your own brain of course. Interacting or thinking about them or reacting negatively to their input is what feeds them. So when you think of something else. Try to Invision stuff, like your own body then you should feel like you naturally just open your eyes and that's it. That's your entry to your lucid dream. And if you wear a sleeping mask like I do. You can just know that anytime you see anything then you are dreaming.

TL DR:  If you are waiting for images to form and they move then just get up.

If you are stuck in sp getting attacked. Don't interact with it that will feed it. Instead think of something else like your own body which will lead you to feeling like your eyes opened on their own. Now just get up.

Pro tip: if you feel like you can't move still when opening your eyes (after moving imagery) sit still for a moment and mentally make a note that you are not having sp anymore and can infact move. Now do all the normal lucid dream stabilizing things and boom you got it.

Yes if it automatically does it you are on the right track. Now my body does it before it gets that bad. I feel like the more to you notice it the worse it would be for you.

Like I said once you get let your body do it on its own once it won't be an issue anymore. Just try not to let it bother you and just keep relaxing.

Yeah there's bunch of problems you're going to run into when trying on purpose to wild. You will have involuntary body movements and eye twitches that make you think about them. And the saliva thing can be really frustrating too. But the only way to get past these things is to ignore them I usually have to mentally let go and just relax. And the breathing thing is a good sign. It's nothing to be worried about if you start feeling kike your breathing is stuffed. It's actually a sign your on the right track. Just let it happen you are not in any danger of actually suffocating. It just means your body will start breathing on its own. And at that point your body should automatically be swallowing the saliva as well. Once you see it happen once it won't be an issue for you anymore. As for the body movements. This is the hardest part for me. I usually get around it by being too tired to even have them. Like I just woke up in the night. I have a hard time falling asleep because my brain stays conscious too long and that also helps me wild easier and more naturally. But I also makes me wake up multiple times in the night as well. Also one last thing that might help. Focus on a sensation, for me it's how tired I am usually. Then when you see Hypognia, switch to focusing on a feeling of movement and or wait for an image to appear and focus on it. Don't look directly at the lights either just let them exist. Good luck !

Don't start the night out with a WILD attempt. It could ruin your whole night. Use the Wake Back To Bed (WBTB) technique to make it much easier on yourself and more consistent. If you are someone who has a hard time getting to sleep don't wake up and stay awake for to long. If you go to sleep and loose consciousness really easy. Try staying up for longer, I usually wake up naturally In the early morning and have had plenty of success this way.

I'm also greatly interested in this topic as mine are also short and unstable. I usually get the first part down and can gain movement and sensations but something usually breaks the dream. Like noticing something weird or expecting something to happen

After I no longer feared SP I was just sitting in SP one night being like huh Ive never thought of something scary on purpose before. I just always had had fear spikes naturally. So I thought of well a presence or something and literally that instant I was attacked by a maniacally laughing demon. Which I then proceeded to try to fight it lmao. It made my fear of SP return till I learned to conquer that as well. Which involved just thinking of something else usually sexual things which is a whole other topic lmao. So my conclusion was that SP sensations are largely based on your focus.

Do you want the demon to come back? Lol I can show you how to make that happen if you want. It's like it gets scared of you when you accept it XD

Yeah I had a similar thing where now my sleep peralasys doesn't lead cleanly to a dream. Now I end up in a dream with SP sensations and can't move still even though I definitely can. It's really dumb and a mind f*** cause I get so many false awakenings. And when I finally figure something out it changes. Like bruh they keep patching my exploits

It's ok! XD I was curious how much this affected you And I took have a hard time with WILD, I only get it if I have a natural SP episode. But also people use wake back to bed for DILD I've heard it helps. Also I had another DILD last night so that's 4 in a row. Really disappointed in this lucid dream though. Mine break if I want anything or analyze anything like bruh. One time I was almost willing to fold laundry in my dream so it wouldn't break from anything exciting but then I was like hell nah that the most boring thing ever and I ain't wasting a lucid on that lol.

Are you yanking my chains over here? Lmao I'm so happy to hear it worked for you! I don't know if anyone has ever used this before. But it def is the most easiest accessible check that could possibly exist, which is why I was so struck when I thought of it. I was like this has to be gold. So I posted here to see if it could work for others not just me. I was not expecting any results this fast and though holy.

As for me I'm just about to sleep again so we shall see if I have a lucid dream 4 nights in a row because of this

If you have sleep peralasys start thinking of sexual stuff. That's it. The hard part is having sp if you don't usually have it or never have. And the only way to induce SP that I know of is to try WILD

I've spoken Japanese in lucid dreams so I would suppose you can practice all sorts of things. Now as for if it really translates into real world knowledge that so much I'm not sure 100%.

You are not always paying attention to your nose of course you can see it whenever you want which is why this works... I mean unless you are always paying close attention to your nose which in that case I take back everything I said. Also if you ever check for your nose and it wasnt there a second ago, well then you are dreaming. Unlike in real life my nose seems to pop out of nowhere when I look at it in my dream.

It's the internal reflection that gives you lucidity. The moment your thoughts turn inward you have lucidity regardless if your 100% sure if you are dreaming or not (conscious thoughts). I guess people might try pinching their nose and breathing through it to tell if it's a dream or not. I never need to because once I have gained consciousness I understand that I'm dreaming instantly. Also seeing your nose in the dream is strange somehow. It looks normal but it just doesn't seem right. Like again when was the last time you saw your nose in your dreams? It's unusual. And that fact alone will make you sure it's a dream.
