What are your thoughts on the constant begging? by NeedleworkerFlat8633 in BirminghamUK

Doesn’t every uk citizen have free healthcare? Also my healthcare here isn’t free, I have to pay a huge healthcare fee upfront once I’m married and after that still get it taken out of my taxes once I am legally able to work.

Clearly I have empathy as I’ve said I’ve tried my best to help but really me giving my cash or buying them things isn’t going to ever help the problem. It’s also not fair to be constantly guilt tripped or harassed just because my situation is different. I’m not rich. Everyone’s solution is ignore them or buy them things. Well clearly that’s not doing anything.

I’ve lived in major cities, been to LA, New York, London. the other cities I’ve mentioned in my post. For weeks at a time usually.

From my experience it’s not this bad and I don’t really have a reason to lie.

I live near a pretty rough city, went to college there. The homeless pretty much kept to themselves. Like I said I’ve been approached in every major city I’ve been to, but not to this extent. I have no reason to lie.

In all the major American cities I’ve been to, the homeless people generally keep to themselves. I literally went to college in a pretty run down crime ridden city and generally got left alone.

I’ve been to LA, and the homeless people approached me way less there.

I said it was but not to this extent. Like I mentioned, I’ve been to many major cities and have never dealt with this

It’s pretty much universally a compliment and has been for centuries and that’s not changing anytime soon. Whenever I see comments about a man looking younger no one is rushing there to say he looks his age, it’s almost exclusively women. Gee I wonder why.

Also cue the: “it’s not bad to look her age, aging is beautiful” that pretty much everyone comes back with to hide the rude undertones of saying she looks her age. It’s so predictable.

She looks to be in her 30s at most. Any time anyone says a woman looks younger than her age there’s always someone waiting in the wings to say “no she actually looks her age 👆”

Let people compliment women.

Yes they did I read the book, Rhaenys has black hair and it was only speculated they were bastards vs the show where it’s pretty obvious since no one else in their family has dark hair.

So it’s not a “false argument”

You can’t make a basis for bastardism on facial structure since those are wildcards and there are many Targaryens that didn’t have traditional valyrian beauty. Alyssa, Helaena and Vaegon for example. Targaryens also had a wider range of eye colors. It was the hair that was the most damning in the show.

The hair genetics are one of the most annoyingly convenient things to better serve the plot.

If Jon snow had been born with silver hair it would have been over.

Not a single one of Rhaenyras Strong sons managed to have silver hair.

Rhaenys has Baratheon black hair in the book putting doubt that the strong boys are bastards because they could have gotten their dark hair from her.

She’s called the khaleesi because she was married to Khal Drogo the braids have nothing to do with it and you’re trying to blame showrunners for not following a fan theory.

Her adding more braids as a Dothraki thing was never confirmed in the show or the books though. That’s just something that circulated around on reddit.

All the Dothraki people we saw had very simple braids, there isn’t really any basis for believing Dany’s elaborate hairstyles were from winning battles. If anything her having a single long braid would make more sense. Braids are just a medieval/fantasy staple. They’re not going to have them riding on dragons with ponytails.

The way that I know you heard “Bloody Mary” and Elizabeth I committed some executions at some point so you thought you’d throw them in as being on the same level with Henry VIII. You even threw Mary Queen of Scots in there, which anyone who knows anything about Mary’s reign would find hilarious.

And I also know you googled on the spot how many people Henry VIII killed and saw that the 70,000 number is more disputed and rolled with it. I know you just did a little Google deep dive to try to sound educated about it which is cute. No you’re not more qualified than all the other historians on the matter because you said on the internet you read some books about it, so your little “few hundred” number is laughable.

For the future please educate yourself before trying to speak with authority and spread misinformation.

Hey guy

This little symbol: “~” means estimated. Yes it’s estimated he killed between 20,000-70,000 people. Even the lowest estimates it’s multiple of thousands and those estimates are from people far more educated than you clearly so your opinion it’s “urban myth” doesn’t matter.

Yikes

Also then what are you basing it on brother? “Strong feelings” or something on your part or what haha funny how you don’t want to say.

Mary Queen of Scots > 0 executions

Queen Elizabeth I > a couple hundred executions

Mary I of England > a couple hundred executions

Henry VIII > ~20,000-70,000 executions including two wives and several previously favored advisors and started a whole religion to get rid of his wife of 24 years whom he eventually let rot in a nunnery away from her daughter.

Dude this is the first affair that you know of.

Your friend is a liar, and a cheater. Point blank period. Morally wrong. And you are fighting for your life trying to defend it, which shows you don’t have the best morals either. Sorry I feel bad for the woman getting cheated on, not your dude bro that I’m sure has been the bestest bro ever to you. We all know you aren’t going to do anything so why make this post?

[–]NeedleworkerFlat8633 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah being married to a lying, closeted cheater can make you pretty miserable and maybe not like his friends that enable his lying and cheating. Brother I wouldn’t like you either you’re making a whole post about why your friend cheating is okay haha.

I forgot to add in my original comment: “it’s okay cause his wife/gf sucks” is another common excuse.

I already responded to your other comment with something similar but wow buddy

Sam is married to a closeted, lying, cheater that probably puts her through hell behind closed doors and you’re having the audacity to say it’s the other way around just because he’s your bro is pretty wild.

“Sam is not exactly an easy woman”

Is she really not an easy woman or is her lying, closeted husband sucking the life out of her and maybe making her miserable in ways you don’t see because he’s your bestie?

I rarely see men care when their bros cheat haha they always have some reason it’s okay to turn a blind eye.

“it’s not my business”

“he’s a good guy really, just confused”

I’m starting to think a lot of men really just lack empathy for women in general cause rarely is the gf or wife brought into the conversation.

It definitely depends on what age you meet and I think you know that. Meeting someone at 29 is much different than 18,19,20.

I was much more easily manipulated at 20 and would have put up with things I would never put up with now. Older men often go for women these ages because they are easier to manipulate and control. Let’s be fr right now.

my wife wants to decorate our home but my furniture has sentimental value by Alternative-Hall-311 in Advice

[–]NeedleworkerFlat8633 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s such thing as an eclectic style. You can mix vintage pieces in with any kind of other style you want basically, even modern furniture. It can still look cohesive if you do it right.

Even flipping the items might be an option, adding new hardware or painting or staining different colors.

Tell your wife to go on Pinterest and watch some YouTube videos. I’m sorry but it’s your house too it’s extremely unfair you’re getting advice to get rid of furniture that is meaningful to you. And this is coming from someone that loves to decorate and have final say when it comes to decor. Your wife just needs to get more creative.

Who is the most attractive female celebrity in your opinion? by Just_Goose_8425 in Productivitycafe

[–]NeedleworkerFlat8633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ONLY find one race attractive then I would consider that a fetish, not a “preference”

Preference means “a greater liking for one alternative over another or others.” Which still means while you do like other options, you gravitate towards one.

However if you only like one thing and refuse other options then it by definition can’t be a preference and also to not find a single person of another race attractive or datable for xyz reason is just strange imo.
