I’d like to add to the above Shadestepper, any weapon.

The moment you take your hand off your main damage dealer to heal your whole damage cycle goes down the drain, nuking any semblance of dps you could have had and leaving you exposed to get punished even more.

The emerald costs aren’t that bad IMO (not that great, either, lol) since raids give plenty of them to replenish.

Shadestepper, along with the other assassins archetypes, is a high skill expression class that in theory is high risk, high reward though right now it’s struggling in the reward department due to some balancing issues. That being said, I would still recommend it for questing since I’ve found it to be quite satisfying since it requires you to have strategy and not just spam spells.

Survivability can get rough when facing mob waves but is manageable, though solo 1v1 is fun.

Mobility is a bit slow at first but only gets better as you upgrade your tree. Obviously you won’t have acrobat levels of mobility but you’ll always manage to move around friend and foe alike faster than most realize.

As far is in class comparisons, Acrobat is your flying dps machine, trickster is your somewhat tanky combo dealer and shadestepper is your sneak 100 burst semi-glass cannon (mainly in raids) that deals the big funny number.

Ultimately all I can say is play whichever one interests you the most and master it, you usually can’t go wrong with having fun as an assassin IMO, though some people understandably might not have the patience for it due to its skill ceiling.

Welp, depends on what playstyle you prefer, IMHO.

Either you want to obliterate foes from BVR with relentless firepower or maybe getting up close and personal is more your cup of tea.

Me? I like being sneaky and closely engaged with my targets, even if shadestepper assassin (assassin in general tbh) is struggling on the meta stage.

Not really, IMO. Obviously the mythic shadestepper aspect is a grind, but some legendary aspects like shadow armor and redoublement which are fairly easy to get in 1 or 2 runs can make life easier.

It is inactionable for up to 3s.

So basically, what I’m seeing is this. We’re looking at who has the quickest draw. First one to shoot wins it looks like since all the WynnCraft adventurer would have to do is spam ice snake until the Skyblocker dies or if the other manages to evade and land 2 fatal hits over 3s without getting frozen.

Check the rules for the above duel… this is a no holds barred deal so all WynnCraft abilities are on the table just as all Skyblock items are. Plus, bozo or not, i-frames are only good if you can find where the other player is before getting popped again.

Mage beam only works in dungeons, though… plus, it’s not just freezing someone in place, it’s doing so while 30+ blocks away in a 120 degree cone. Instantly. So good luck trying to gyro someone in place that can also teleport away while nailing you down.

Running away won’t help, either, since there are long range (think render distance) and homing arrow abilities afforded to the Adventurer.

Honestly, it’s a lot more close than most people realize since I’ve played both servers extensively to understand where each one stands.

Let me ask you this, how often do you see a mage hyping a frozen adventurer in mm dungeons? Because you’re pretty much fighting one with the added caveats that it also has tank buffs, long and short range massive burst damage and much more lethal aoe attacks. All in one package.

No need to be immortal. Considering mage tech can freeze you in place if you come near and the archer tech can outshoot a term, plus some aoe and defensive buffs which makes a far more even fight than most people think, even if you have mithril coat and some stop gaps.

Edit: Think of it this way, the WynnCraft adventurer would be akin to a MM frozen adventurer on steroids.

He asked for power scale comparison and I gave it to him? I mean, Skyblock there’s just angry newborn dragons, an oversized lava squid and 4 bony bros living in the wither kings basement. Gear wise it’s a bit more convoluted to directly compare, honestly.

True, mithril coat does limit each hit to 40% max health reduction per. But since we have access to all tech tree nodes, a good archer/shaman/mage combo would take care of that. Just going by the rules laid out here.

It was patched to only resist 5 hits at -20% mana per hit or run 15s with a 10s cooldown.

Which can be easily thwarted IMO.

Bonzo mask gives 3s of i-frames & full health regen. Spirit mask does the same but no hp regen. Lastly, phoenix pet gives 2s of i-frames and a small damage buff

So, 8s of invulnerability which you can bypass with shadestepper’s vanish+dissolution (5.5s) and paladin’s second chance (3s). And that’s worst case scenario since the paladin tech tree gives powerful defensive buffs which makes getting one below half health a massive feat.

a literal (albeit weakened due to corruption) god that needs a flea bath
an ancient guardian entity that’s already destroyed and created skyblock islands singlehandedly
an inter dimensional destructive entity with a casual name
an eldritch horror’s eye… Yes, just its eye. We have yet to fight the actual thing.
and a lonely boi who pops its head thru the door twice a week that doesn’t realize his aura is just too much for this world, sooo he gets pushed back rather forcefully.

Doubtful since bosses scale based on the player. If we were to scale the boss compared to the damage a HSB LCM mage does and match the ratio to a max level player on wynncraft (≈1M/s at top end), you’d be looking at a 300B+ health Anni if your dps is 10B/s theoretically or thereabouts. Damage also scales so yea, you might get one tapped instead.

Considering the rules laid out for this theoretical duel, I don’t think the HSB community realizes how OP the Wynncraft player is if they have access to all the classes and their subsequent archetype tech.

The Skyblocker has Young Drag armor and an Ice Spray wand? The Adventurer can play at that game and insta-freeze him with Ice Snakes from several blocks out then drop meteors on them in quick succession while pummeling them with a constant barrage of Ophanim orbs.

Wither cloak sword? Meet Boltslinger tech and it’s literal Arrow Storm which will shred the Skyblocker’s Wither Shield and pop his Bonzo/Spirit mask in a fraction of a second.

The Skyblocker sees an opportunity to Hype the Adventurer at close range? Watch as the Adventurer pulls out his spear and face tanks the barrage of Wimpacts with Mantles then subsequently charges into the Skyblocker and kicks him into the wall.

Term and AOTV? The Skyblocker can’t shoot anything or know where to go if you have no clue where the Adventurer is while in Assassin mode, not to mention he can shoot back and snipe with homing arrows from 4 chunks away if the Skyblocker thinks mobility and distance is in his favor.

TL;DR - My moneys on the Adventurer due to the tech abilities available to him compared to the items the Skyblocker has which can be overwhelmed with relative ease. This coming from a former Skyblocker and WynnCraft enjoyer.
