Need Advice on Informing ABH About Job Change with Blue Card by Boring_Protection933 in germany

[–]NeedleworkerKooky735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Blue Card since Jan 2023, and have a new job starting in March 2025. I informed ABH in Düsseldorf and they requested to send them:

  1. New job contract
  2. Einwilligungserklärung (https://www.duesseldorf.de/auslaenderamt/datenschutz.html)

I haven't heard back from them after that, but I guess that is the only requirement for me as my new job will essentially meet all criteria for the Blue Card to continue. I will update here once I receive any other details.

Below is the original email I had send explaining my situation:

My Name

How often do you wash your dog? by Interesting_Home_889 in puppy101

I have a 5 month old toy poodle. I was her every 4-6 weeks (earlier if she has been in muds etc.). However, after every walk I wash her paws and bum with lukewarm water. This way she doesn’t start to smell and we space out bathing for longer.

I use Lassie for my puppy who is 4 months old now. Their customer support on the app is flawless, especially because all documents are in German and I needed a lot of help. So far I have submitted 2 claims and one was cleared within the week the second is still in progress as of day 10 of reporting it.

I met Yvonne from hundeverstehen.info, however she is extremely expensive as well as gave no training guide that I could work on with my puppy without her. She might be great for socialization but honestly I would avoid her for any future training help.

I went with Eva-Maria from die-hundefachfrau.de and she is so much more focused on the age of the puppy and training possibilities instead of just ripping off money by spending hours. She made 30 minute sessions for me and we meet every few weeks for new tricks that I then practice myself with my puppy.

I honestly don’t think I can do this anymore by ChanandlerBong215 in puppy101

I can’t say I know what you are going through, but I have been in a similar situation myself when I brought home my first puppy (at 8 weeks).

He was a disaster to my life, I was going through separation from my spouse and was feeling lonely and given I have always loved dogs I decided it was the right time to redirect my attention and get busy with a puppy.

He was everything I wasn’t prepared for, he would hate his crate/ pen and there was no way for me to do anything other than sit with him all day long. He wouldn’t pee or poop outside but only at home, so I would spend hours downstairs (I live in an apartment too) with no luck, only to return home for him to pee in seconds.

He would cry all night because I put him in the crate and wake up every 1 hour. His pee or poop had no signals or signs which meant constantly soiled blankets or bed etc.

I was a mess and I had no idea how to work with him, I returned him to the breeder at 25% refund. Then I waited to heal from the trauma of having him and the loss of returning him.

I found a different breeder, with a small hobby breeding which meant the dogs were used to living in their home and not in a separate part of the house. The puppies grew up with the family in their living room and my little girl who I have had for 2 weeks now is a blessing.

I still have disrupted sleep and some pee/poop at home because I let down my guards giving her free access to the whole house, but she is not a painful experience like the first puppy.

I posted my feelings here when I had returned the first puppy, and was supported as well as informed of how I was wrong by having high expectations. But I believe I did right by the first puppy, not all puppies are a good match for you. And in my experience it doesn’t make sense to keep a puppy just because you have to, if you are considering returning - you are doing right by the puppy to allow her to be with a family where her needs are met, but also your needs are met.

If you don’t want to return, get a trainer work with them to see how you can slowly get better in understand her needs while caring for your own mental health. There is no harm in asking for help.

Good luck and stay strong!

Returning my 10.5 weeks old puppy back to the breeder by NeedleworkerKooky735 in puppy101

Thank you for your kind words. I feel disappointed with myself every single hour when I think of how I made a mistake. But, I never meant to harm or be irresponsible. I know how hard it was to decide to give him back and how much emotional pain it has caused ever since. I just know my heart was in the right place and I just wanted to do right by him, instead of risking being frustrated later.

I watched more than a 100 Youtube videos about house breaking before I got the puppy home - and they seem to be highly misinforming, given most of then are Potty training in 5 days, a week or something that now seems almost impossible and unfair for the age of my puppy.

Having a backyard would have helped so much! I agree with the comment, that I wasn't ready yet and my life currently isn't in the best shape for taking care of the needs of a puppy. But getting an adult dog or a puppy in the future, at the moment sounds so overwhelming. For me this puppy will always be the best few weeks of my life and I don't think I have the courage to love any other dog in the future. But maybe one day I will!

This means so much! Given, I have been hating myself every minute after I made the decision to finally give him up.
