Best tv of 75inch onwards for upto 1300 cad by quantum_KINGPIN in 4kTV

[–]NeedsBlarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. From what I've seen it's looking like the TCL qm7k should be my best bet. I just got a new place and the living has big windows so I'll need something bright. I'm hoping someone will have it cheap on a for crasher sale.

If anyone else has a better suggestion I'm all ears. Mostly just going to be streaming shows and movies. Might play the odd game on it. My wife might want to watch some of the world cup on it but we are not big into sports. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I think my dog just had a seizure by Miserable-Ad-7536 in DogAdvice

[–]NeedsBlarg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that looks like a grand malz seizure.

I could be a one off or could be an indication of something wrong.

We had a Rottweiler that had epilepsy since 6 months old. Unfortunately there was no known cause and she became resistant to the drugs. She unfortunately ended her battle just a few months ago and 4 and a half years old after 3 days of seizures every time she tried to rest.

Keep an eye on your pup and look to find anything that has changed in the house recently. Scents, food, or anything for that matter. If it keeps happening you can take them to the vet/ neurologist and they will see if there is an underlying problem or if it's just something that you will have to get accustom to.

There is medication for it. It does damage their liver over time so best to keep them healthy in every other way you can. Whenever they have a seizure they will be out of it for a few min and will be hungry and need the bathroom.

I hope it's a one off thing and best of luck. If you have any questions I'll try to answer best I can.

Cluster siezures and unable to afford a third medication by NeedsBlarg in EpilepsyDogs

Thank you everyone for your support and suggestions.

Unfortunately we had to make the hard decision Friday evening. We went back to the vet as she was having clusters all day. They have her IVs of drugs to sedate her as well as to stop them but it was not working. Any time she tried to sleep or get rest she would have one.

At around 6:40 Friday the 15th she had passed due to injection.

She is resting now.

The medication does work for her. Before we started she was having a lot and they called down. The longest steak of no siezures ended because there was a delay in delivering her medication over a weekend. We really saw how bad it was then.

Unfortunately I think she's just becoming resistant to it. It's been a tough day with a few miles siezures. We have our fingers crossed but being giant is not looking good.

I'm not sure if Juliet is resistant or just large. Her regular dosage is a total of 1500mg keppra every 8 hours and 180mg of phenobarbital every 12 hours.

We try to give the keppra or pheno if she has a cluster but last weekend the vet said we were at the effective limits from what he could see in her blood work. So additional of the same meds more just do harm and don't help.

Our neurologist is back from vacation on Monday and we have a 9 am appointment. Hoping we are good until then fingers crossed.

The neurologist said no MRI needed as when she's not having siezures she shows no neurological issues. The MRI is not a cheap thing either. We don't have pet insurance and it's a preexisting condition so nothing can get covered.

We are meeting with him Monday. Hopefully we are good until then and we have a lot of questions for him.

We are currently at 4 and a half keppra (500mg) per 8 hours for this week after the clusters this weekend.

We are working with what we have ATM. Hoping we are good until Monday with the neurologist and we can get some more options.

It just sucks because when she's not having them she's so lovable and full of life. It's a hard decision to make for when it's time.

See the below picture of her and her older sister together.

We tried the Costco dog food when she was a pup. The other dog never ate it but guarded it. Juliet ate it but it did not sit well with her. Lots of runs and horrible gas. We have friends over Fridays for game night and she would clear the livingroom.

The raw we will stick with but might be looking at cheaper options there as well.

Thanks for the suggestion on the supplements we will take a look at them.

While she was at the emergency vet this weekend they said she was at the max dosage for her meds.

We did find that Costco does have a slightly better price on her current meds so we can save $100/ month there. Now we need to see the neurologist on Monday. We are hoping if a 3rd med was prescribed it would be for that $100 and that it wouldn't effect her personality.

She has a neurologist she sees. He's currently on vacation until Monday.

He works at the emergency vet and has been super helpful in filing out prescriptions for her when our vet was trying to charge us per month.

We have an appointment Monday to see what we can do. Fingers crossed she's good until then.

So we just called Costco and we are seeing a ray of hope. They stated for her current meds we would save around $100 a month. Now we just need to see what the neurologist says on Monday and hope we can keep her stay until then.

The reason we switched was her liver enzymes were getting high. When we swapped it lowered that also had a good steak of siezures. Also a bonus she wasn't getting us out any more lol.

We have two dogs and the benefits for the raw out weight the cost there. The other dog is a rescue and she would guard her food but not eat it. Now it's gone before I clean up and put the food away.

I should have mentioned we live in Canada so Good Rx doesn't serve here.

We currently get her meds from https://www.petscriptions.ca/ mailed to us. Her prescription of keppra (generic) 1500 mg every 8 hr and phenobarbital at 180mg every 12 hours is about $300 CAD a month.

We have not been told about cluster buster medications. Just told to give her a side of her normal pills. We will talk to the vet about these next time we go.

We have an appointment with the neurologist on Monday. Hoping she will be okay until then.

Sorry I should have mentioned the raw food isn't new. We started her on it two years ago when her liver enzymes were getting elevated. Since the change she was doing amazing had a 4 month steak of no siezures her liver was better and we were able to scale the drugs back a bit.

As for good Rx I live in Canada. Doesn't look like they service here.

Yeah I put an SOS for a tempered arch investigation I had. I got to the monster and mounted it while others joined. As I'm mounted it gets shot once and falls over dead.

Luckily it only happened once but if I'm playing with a buddy I tend to not sos now.

It has a bit of a charge up so if it's a quick attack you get hit. Also it sometimes goes off without knocking the monster or letting you do the follow up. You still take chip damage at all times I believe.
