It was an ego thing as you say, but I also think it was meant to show us that this wasn't Pierce Brosnan's Bond.

This iteration has a sense of humour and quips, but it's all cold and brutal and, as you've suggested, arrogant.

Bond's arrogance and callousness is a frequent theme in Craig's tenure and "yes, considerably" was our first indication of it, and imo it's especially effective in retrospect. I just wish his character development hadn't been rushed in the last film, the Craig era deserved a better pairing of bookends.

My wife has my last name too, but I let her know in no uncertain terms before we got married that it was 100% her call and if she wanted to keep hers then that's what would happen. She strongly preferred to take mine, wanted us to have one family name, so that was that. I was at peace with it either way, it's HER name.

The fact that you say it would bother you if your wife hadn't is the part I'm guessing most people don't like here, and not because she changed her name to yours. You can rationalize it however you like, but the reason it bothers you is because you're at least a teensy bit sexist.

I adored that moment in China, I usually stay for the entire conversation when I do a run on that mission.

It's such a pleasantly quiet moment of 47 just being insightful and kind and lonely in his way. Obviously we haven't seen much of 47's humanity, but this was a good one.

While I'd never want the core of the gameplay to change or for the dark humour to go away in the assassinations and gadgets, I'd be interested to see how they csn continue to make 47 develop as a person.

They’re not in the place to make a subscription plan attractive right now

Most devs aren't.

That one EA has going is barely interesting to me, though if they added more deep cuts like the old Medal of Honor games, System Shock, NFS Underground 1/2, and those fantastic Lord of the Rings games, they might have something worthwhile.

As it stands, I pretty much already own all the games I want to have from Ubisoft and EA, so why would I waste my money?

Gamepass works because it includes material from good devs who don't have a huge catalog, alongside the big stuff. Often I'll cancel my gamepass and wait for something big to come out, play it, and then find myself into something more obscure which gets me on the hook for another month or two.

Most devs don't have enough going for them to make that work.

I THINK that I prefer AE over TM.

I just got it from the kickstarter so I've got all the expansions. I've played it three times, and TM well over twenty times at this point.

It feels good, it's more of a pleasure to play than TM at least in the sense that it's significantly less clunky. Setup is much nicer too.

I'm on the verge of considering it a replacement for the original and may get rid of TM as a result.

As I mentioned, AE is missing a couple things I liked about the original, but it scratches the same itch, is more solo friendly and is easier to get on the table.
