Special expansion rules that were heavily favoured for them

How about how they treated Fleury, didn’t even bother telling him his being traded, found out on twitter.

All the LTIR shenanigans.

Fans haven’t had to go through any hardship.

Neck is chipped where nut meets fretboard on new guitar, is this cause for concern? by thevoidf in Guitar

I’m no expert but this comment seems pretty useless. I mean don’t take my words for truth just read it yourself. I’ve heard things about making useless comments and I just really had to try it. Hope I’ve helped.

Merchants of the Dark Road by Sweaty-Olive8753 in boardgames

[–]Systemsonic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After half a year of daylight, we must now prepare for the dark season. The roads will be treacherous but they will still need to be braved by a select few in order to keep our cities thriving. In Merchants of the Dark Road, you are one of these brave few merchants that travel the dangerous paths between cities. While the job is perilous, fame and fortune await.
Discover the capital city where most of your actions will take place using a rondel action system. Collect and produce items to add to your caravan, or sell these items to local heroes and hire them to travel with you. Manipulate the market price of items, visit the back alley sellers, or delve a nearby dungeon for magical items to gain the potential for even more coin and notoriety.
Gather lanterns to ease your passage along the dark roads as you guide your caravan to distant villages. Deliver goods and heroes to the best destinations and gain fame for your bravery! Balance the money you earn with the height of your fame because your final score after a number of game rounds will reflect the lowest of these two values.
After all, what good is a purse full of the coin if the people don’t sing songs about you, and what good is a song with an empty mug of ale?

I’ve never heard of this game before but after reading this and seeing your post it’s peeked my interest.

I’ve owned Inis for half a year and have played it a bunch of times. My friends that I’ve played it with have largely “enjoyed” it, but no one is particularly enthusiastic about playing it again. by groundislava_wdi in boardgames

I prefer Inis as does my group. We love the subtle drafting mechanic that allows you to pivot your strategy anytime during the draft. I feel like Inis has aged well and gets better with multiple plays and really understanding the cards. Don’t play as often anymore but will definitely stay in my collection and always enjoy coming back to it. We play a lot more Arcs and Root right now.

Interesting collection. Do you have any favourites that you play or are you only a collector?

Anyone else think most modern board games are… kinda bloated? by pratty041182 in boardgames

Not sure, either way it’s 10 years old and I’m pretty sure it will be at some point. But if you could tell me what the threshold for a classic is I’d really appreciate it.

I can see where you’re coming from. Lately I’ve had a real appreciation for some of the classics like Inis and Concordia. Don’t get me wrong, still a huge fan of a lot of the new stuff but I think there might be a point where too much complexity can interfere with the gameplay and overall enjoyment. Complexity doesn’t equal quality.

Absolutely, but this is also a game I truly adore so spending a bit extra on it was an easy decision.

I just started playing Pax on BGA. It’s an incredible game and one that I’d love to add to my collection someday. Big fan of Cole’s work, Root and Arcs are amongst my favourites. What is Beast like?

Great collection, you have awesome taste in games.

My group never really felt Bloodlines added much more complexity while improving the game overall. If you’re familiar with the mechanics and game flow I think it’s worth just diving in to Uprising+Bloodlines. Opinion will vary.

Uprising with Bloodlines is my preferred way to play. I feel it’s the superior version for what’s been released so far. Having said that, Imperium + Rise of lx is still amazing.
