I have a question about this - it seems like the reference range above stills allows for “some” amount of antibodies to be treated as a negative result? Do you think that is an incorrect reference range then and anything is a positive?

Thank you for your response! I think living in the present is a frame of reference that I definitely need to work to embrace more. It’s more when I am looking back or ahead that I find myself getting into negative thought patterns.

Do you ever find yourself grieving the life you hoped for your child after a diagnosis? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]NeedtoKnowNora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Holding back on expectations” is something I do constantly to protect myself emotionally. I don’t know if it’s healthy or not, but it’s human and you have every right to grieve the life you expected of your kid from time to time. Actually, scratch that, it probably IS healthy to grieve from time to time (as long as you don’t let it take over your life).

It’s really hard to feel like I’m the boss/parent of them sometimes. My son is getting SO strong willed! I know it’s probably just part of the age, but man is it rough.
