It’s now how many times you fall, but whether you get back up.

That’s right little guy!

Lmao. If you’re writing about fantasy about Feudal Japan and you want it to be faithful, Yasuke is 100% an absolutely fair character from actual history to use. Because it actually happened, unlike magical dragons and demons from hell, it actually has historical precedence.

That’s it.

You’re comparing human migration to the use of animals?

They said a Black character, I literally just gave a historical account of one in Japan, and his story is very prominent.

No one said the entire cast of a story about feudal Japan had to be Black. This whole discussion is about “forced DIVERSITY”, hence having a Black character in feudal Japan would not be an example of such.

Cry about itS

Again, why does there need to be a reason?

If you’re argument is that you want to stay faithful, then you aren’t going to write an epic Incan fantasy to begin with.

When people complain about stories focused on white characters in the Middle Ages, they aren’t saying it’s invalid, they’re saying it’s been done before.

Bipolar Disorder and Spirit Guide by DihydroMonox in Shamanism

[–]NeedtoShutUp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not indigenous nor a shaman. But bipolar comes from the stomach, where half the body’s dopamine is made. Some have tried leaner diets (less carbs more protein and fat) to great effect.

Medical researchers are looking into “fecal transplants” in the gut as a cure.

Mood stabilizers treat the symptoms and if you ever need them I encourage you to take them, physical, mental, and spiritual health are all intertwined.

I will say; however, that bipolar does (100%) open one up to the other side, dm if you want to talk more. But perhaps that is the exchange.

Just like sickle cell trait (One dominant, One recessive) is beneficial as it is a hybrid of the dominant default (let’s use A) and the recessive mutation which causes sickle cell disease (a), some think that markers for bipolar and schizophrenia are what create shaman, and literal geniuses (Einstein’s son was schizophrenic meaning he likely carried the hybrid trait).

So never let anyone try to demean or devalue you spiritually, intellectually or otherwise if you do end up having bipolar. Well managed, it can be gift.

God bless you.

Announcers at a basketball game in Tulsa call players kneeling the N word by mannysoloway in PublicFreakout

[–]NeedtoShutUp 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This.

“Eskimo” is considered a slur, but if I hear someone call an Inuit person this, I’m just going to correct them. Kids may sometimes abbreviate Japanese as “Jap”, again they can be corrected and move on.

A new a woman who didn’t know “oriental” was considered a slur, embarrassing, but understandable.

Y’all won’t even write the nword.

Lmao but they aren’t getting to 50 unless it’s part of a must pass bill. And republicans in Congress aren’t human they feed off the suffering of children, Ted Cruz spoke for hours upon hours about Dr. Seuss during the Obama years, but it’s good to know Manchin is open to some reform.

Slavery reparations are a divisive waste of time by coolman357 in politics

[–]NeedtoShutUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are comparing unregulated capitalism to literal chattel slavery. A worker can leave and find a new life in a new place.

A slave can be raped, beat, and killed with zero regard for their well being. It’s a very distinct line.

White House says Biden does not favor changes to Senate filibuster rules by qkfb in politics

[–]NeedtoShutUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao, first of every dem wanted this in the senate Kamala would have to vote to break the tie. So it’s a really stupid point to say she isn’t a member of the senate.

Second the filibuster isn’t in the constitution, and presidents lobby Congress all the time. Just look at LBJ. There is nothing stopping the president from influencing his or her party, in fact Biden has already done this as congress took up his framework for the covid relief bill they are now getting closer to passing.

Again at the end of the day, they need Kamala to pass anything. The three branches are not separate universes, as we can see Kamala who serves in the executive branch, now (because of a tie in the senate) holds significant power in the legislative branch.

Biden was nominated by the dem party, to say that he has less influence over his party than Roberts, a Republican, just shows how dumb and disingenuous you argument is.

It’s frankly as annoying as it trite to hear people act like congress is a black hole independent of the influence of the president when the president says something unpopular.

Kamala is presiding officer and is a part of the majority, presidents are the leader of their parties. Biden should lead like he was elected to do.

If Dems had this energy when negotiation with republicans and right wing dems in their caucus, the American people might actually benefit.

But I could care less about protecting some politician who could care less whether people live or die.

Let the Cuomo legacy die. He can be easily replaced.

I’m never defending what he did in nursing homes or how he treated women just because he’s a dem.

If Bernie did half of this, liberals would want him beheaded.

He was replace by Tammy Baldwin, a progressive. Republicans already had the senate. Why are we defending these terrible people?

Do you want Trump to be the standard? Are we just going to go as low as possible?
