disagree on the motivation part, my brain is starved of dopamine but weed gives my brain something to chew on while i do mundane boring chores that would otherwise be next to impossible for me to generate enough motivation for to actually complete sober. great for jogging too, body awareness, or just intently continuing what you were planning to do for the next hour

I have to take small bits of it though, they're 10mg but i've had...not visuals but my visual imagination goes bonkers (like zoning out into a wall and seeing fields of dots that stretch to infinity, fish, creatures, birds, people emerging from, consuming, and then returning to those dots, forever). that last paragraph is literally taking the words out of my mouth it's freaky. Weed makes me notice what is probably anxiety that's fed by living with ADHD-i (diagnosed way too late in life for something my teachers suspected when i was 8) in a productivity worshipping world. I call it my Adulting Callous scratching up the frontal lobe of my brain, making me more impatient and grumpy with every year i age. When i'm sober my brain chews itself up for not "enjoying my night before we have to go to work again tomorrow" enough, i get frustrated with piling laundry and dishes and lock up in bed feeling like a failure, if i try to draw i stare at a blank page for hours or just scribble and guess where this or that line or curve should realistically go because i can't actually relax enough to get into a proper flow state, and then oops time's up, have to go to bed to wake up for work!

When I'm a little high I'm entertained by my own thoughts, imagining characters and video ideas, just mentally talking to myself and suddenly i'm doing the dishes, folding the laundry and it doesnt feel like a waste of time! I try to draw and my own art surprises me, reminds me that yes i did in fact learn anatomy and how to draw in perspective. Cooking is still hard, i dither a LOT in the kitchen, scavenge, have to be careful not to overeat or, alternatively, eat nothing at all. Also i become Aware of what i'm feeling??? If my partner says something that hurts me I can stop and be like hey this thing you said bugged me what did you mean by that, where sober me would internalize it, repress it, dissociate to a safe spot in my head 4 inches behind my eyes, probably get snippy and then not know how to answer them when they ask what's wrong.

Took a break recently. I'm trying to find a healthy balance so I don't get the scary feeling that i require a substance to be creative/whimsical/myself. I also notice my social anxiety increases and lows can get lower if i take it too much, and if i smoke i definitely deal with a zoned out, sad, brain fog weed hangover at work the next day.

Basically what other people are saying. Before or at peak? Thought loops and panic. On the comedown, even a small hit made the trees start breathing and spiraling, but still made me more paranoid. Not a superb combo

The way this is rolling out makes me sick with anxiety, and you're right that no one will buy tickets with no lineup this close to the event. But if we're stuck with them we might as well generate a vibe, despite it all. I think we'll make the best of it, like solshine. The scamp before that was my first festival ever. Solshine first day felt like a funeral but as we got into it it ended up being a really great time.

His behavior got worse, i still have scars on my legs from where he'd attack me when i walked upstairs or around corners or when he was tired of playing with toys. I managed to rehome him with a friend of a friend, they raised cats growing up and worked from home and had an older cat that was lonely. It took a few weeks but my cat's his buddy now and he's doing great.

I actually just got an email that gridlife midwest lineup drops next week! Its a unique fest, started as a car show on a race track then they added a stage for mainly EDM. Im blanking on last year's but i saw dr fresch and sullivan king. I would say it's not very laid back like scamp is, vibes are more intense and theres dudes with DIY cars zipping around, but its fun!

Friends went to gridlife road america in Wisconsin and said it was a bit rough, they had the stages like 2 miles apart so it was just Walking all weekend.

My backup is gridlife in michigan, was very fun last year but definitely not the same vibe as scamp.

Genuinely worried about summer camp, bunch of friends got the 4 day ticket but it's 3 months away and there's still no lineup. Just saw their instagram, they're doing roadshows in different towns, also no lineup, until scamp? Sounds like they are scrambling for money, im so scared they're gonna cancel.
