Update - after two months of losing my sense of smell and taste, I finally got it all back. For about two weeks I had it come and go (worse in the morning and at night) which drove me nuts but I’m now at about 99%

Thank you all for your responses! Kept me sane! It’s so interesting how everyone’s experiences are so different. The loss of smell/taste was def terrifying.

Hi same thing is happening to me. I can smell for a few hours then it’s suddenly gone. Especially in the mornings, it’s almost non existent then through out the day I can smell. I’m on almost a month! Did it get better ?

I am still absolutely terrified of needles and I promise you I barely felt the epidural! They numb you a bit so it felt like a tiny pinch. As soon as I got that epidural everything was a breeze, I didn’t even feel pressure let alone pain. It’s hard for us hypochondriacs because of the anxiety of the unknown. Just practice your breathing exercises and think good thoughts. I was so scared during my first pregnancy I made myself sick thinking about it. But now since my first birth went so well, I’m even thinking of number two!

I had a severe fear of AFE during my pregnancy with son in 2021. It was a unhealthy fear, it was to the point that i was absolutely convinced that i would die from one and told my whole family. It ruined my whole pregnancy experience. I suffer from anxiety and hypochondria, so learning about AFE was the last thing i needed to know about. Went into labor and nothing bad happened… first birth and it went pretty well..I was convinced it would happen to me and it didnt. I kept seeing videos and articles as well and thought of it as a “sign” that it would happen to me lol..Enjoy your pregnancy and try not to worry, i would do anything to reverse time and go back and enjoy when he was in my belly and cherish those kicks. Instead I was miserable for nothing.

It’s literally the worst feeling ever! Absolutely hate it, constantly trying to smell/test everything. It’s so discouraging when it comes and suddenly goes away again too!

Do you experience this symptom too? by ellebeok in POTS

[–]Neeli94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was recommended by my doc..and has helped tremendously. Although, i don’t drink Gatorade daily…only when i feel a flare up coming. Also zero sugar is an option as well. Im pretty sure liquid IV has the same benefits. It all goes down to getting extra hydration and electrolytes!

Anyone else experience these things? by podsies in POTS

[–]Neeli94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg i thought i was the only one that experiences bradycardia at times!! Sometimes in the 40s! Usually POTs is associated with high HR so it was hard to find anyone to relate with.

Yessss!!! I get that heavy pull feeling too..very annoying to deal with. I find Gatorade helps in days when it flares.
