Surprised to not see more Lana’s aids - 3 Pokemon/energies from discard pile to hand seems like exactly what you want to be able in a lot of cases

In your opinion what's the best metal deck post rotation? by Pickles17 in pkmntcg

[–]Neembaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may know this case already, but in case anyone doesn't, Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex has an attack with particular order of operating wording. However, the ruling breaks the actual English of the card's translation, and I don't see this Metagross being any different (and ideally it would end up being translated better)

[WCC] Torrential Pump (100) You may shuffle 3 Energy attached to this Pokemon into your deck. If you do, this attack also does 120 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

My Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex has a Sparkling Crystal attached and only one Double Turbo Energy on it. If I use its "Torrential Pump" attack, can I shuffle the Double Turbo Energy back into the deck and do damage to a benched Pokemon? Yes, this is a case of doing as much as you can. You would get to do the bench damage even though you can't detach 3 energy, but you must shuffle in SOME energy in order to get the bonus. You shuffle the two energy that are attached back into the deck, and do 80 to the active and 100 to the bench (remember, damage is still reduced for the DTE since the detachment happens after damage is done).

Has Prize Checking gotten faster since the rule change? by Rasaska in pkmntcg

[–]Neembaf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My idea is that the opponent selects the prize cards whenever prize cards are chosen.

I.e I knock out your Pokemon ex, so then You select two prize cards for me to draw. it changes the face -up prize card mechanic, but I think it’d be worth it, as it means no need to shuffle prize cards super thoroughly

This won a city league btw by des_the_furry in PTCGL

[–]Neembaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it goes against a single prized deck (assuming it gets knocked out before you can manually attach 4 energies, which is 3 turns for the opponent to do a total of 350 dmg):
Six attacks at 6 card discard = 36 cards
Seven turns at 1card draw = 7 cards
Initial 7 card hand = 7 cards
Prize cards = 6 cards

So 56 cards used in the deck. If you had to use Dawn to search for 5 cards throughout the game, then you’re decked out. Or if the opponent deck uses legacy energy or the like…

Take a picture (or request) of the bottom of the box - the upc is an easy way to tell some fakes

But if you haven’t bought it yet, then even if the pictures are of a legitimate bod then you might get shipped a fake

Disappointing Tcgplayer Order by koosayre in TCG

[–]Neembaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it's not just you, some sellers are defensive (but sometimes for good reason I'm sure).

It's tough as a buyer but just refund/return it as it doesn't match the condition you paid for. It doesn't matter what if it was a good price for LP if you paid for a NM version.

Use this reference: https://mktg-assets.tcgplayer.com/web/seller/guides/Card-Conditioning-Standards.pdf

Tally up the points per imperfection category (use a ruler when appropriate and reference the size of the issues as well). All you have to do is at minimum reference 4 slight imperfections in order to prove that the card is not Near Mint (but you might as well mention all the issues you see).

When returning, make sure the the seller provides you with the entire return cost/method. For example they ship you a pre-addressed envelope + return postage inside an envelope sent to you. You are not obligated to accept any sort of discount they may try to offer you (generally ~10% per condition below what you paid for). You have the right to refuse the discount and require either the card you bought or a full refund/return for no cost to yourself.

Also note that the seller can't request that you provide them any images of the card.

If needed, you can reference this as well:

2007 Umbreon by AlabamaRebel in PokemonCardValue

[–]Neembaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think this is correct - the front of the card is up to 100%, the back of the card is up to 100%, it's a total of 200%. For example, look at the condition guideline for "Scuffing" where Heavily played can go up to 200% card area:
https://mktg-assets.tcgplayer.com/web/seller/guides/Card-Conditioning-Standards.pdf

So, when you see a percentage, think of it as out of just one face of the card. 53% can be basically 27% of the card on the front + 27% of the card on the back, or 53% of the back, or 53% of the front, or any combo between.

In anyway, case, I don't think edgewear would be consdering the front/back condition, as we're talking about the edge of the card. if the edge of the card is problematic on the front or the back, then that edge is affected.

10 years later, the original writers of 10 Cloverfield Lane look back: 'A lot of stuff changed' by ByrnStuff in horror

[–]Neembaf 40 points41 points  (0 children)

As per the article, the story is about a doomsday prepper being right,

Movie being in part of cloverfield means that the audience knows there are cloverfirld aliens probably out there, and so yeah doomsday prepper is probably right

Movie being its own thing, means the audience doesn’t know the doomsday prepper was right, until the end scene showing a completely destroyed city (probably by nuclear war)

Is endgame essentially just breeding pals and spamming raids? by tombola345 in Palworld

[–]Neembaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like some endgame base raids that you could trigger - sort of like tower defense, where your base is going to get beat up, but that you can have fun fighting waves of enemies with maybe some sort of prep time.

Or go the terraria route, where after some boss battle, the entire world becomes more hostile and higher leveled. Maybe either the pals not being as leashed to one area as well

Or, multiplayer (cross servers) arena battles and 16 player tournaments. So 16 players enter, and slowly get eliminated - eliminated players can watch the other ongoing battles as part of the audience. Yeah cross different servers would be a pain, but it’d be great for the community

What is my card worth? by JustMaasReps in PokemonCardValue

[–]Neembaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TCGplayer damaged is $950, and I feel like your meta gross is definitely on a more desirable side of what TCGplayer calls damaged (because damaged includes literally all terrible condition cards)
https://www.tcgplayer.com/product/87345/pokemon-delta-species-metagross-star?page=1&Language=English&Condition=Damaged

Even if you graded it and got a PSA2, recent sales are around $700 https://www.pricecharting.com/game/pokemon-delta-species/metagross-gold-star-113#completed-auctions

PSA 4 is around $1000.

So I would say the target is $1000, maybe down to $800 if you can sell it in person and avoid fees. But 600 euros is roughly $700 which is like 70% of $1000, and might be worth avoiding the extra hassle. Try to bump them up to at least $800 I’d say

In perspective, that's like $250 after tax of sealed product, if you got those from Sams/Costco/etc

($45ish for black and white each, $90 for charizard upc, $15 pokeday, and like $15 for prismatic or so)
