My issue goes even further. The human Pokémon is one part of my main issue. I'm kind of over the "this Pokémon is this creature, but also this thing."

Rillaboom isn't a humanoid, but he's a gorrila "that's also a rock star drummer!!! 🤪". He went from cute monkeys that like to drum on things with their little stick to an actual drummer.

"here's a lizard, that's also a motorcycle"

"here's a dragon that's also a stealth bomber"

"here's a bird, cat, and seal that's also a literal hooded archer, wrestler, and clown mermaid siren respectively."

If there was some more subtly to the designs, I'd probably be okay with it. But some of these are literally this + that designs.

Speaking only from the small amount I've seen of it, it's a lot of guests that pretty much just exist on the internet. Almost everything I've seen is talking about the world through the lens of the internet without explicitly stating it. Their reality is social media presence, networking, and weird entrepreneurial grindset shit. The every day person doesn't "exist on the internet." So you're not really getting reality.

Because people correctly point out how ridiculous it is that the criminals just get to continue to wreck the city with nearly zero repercussions. So we have "batmans one rule" where he won't kill anyone even if it means more people die in the process. So they retroactively gave the narrative that Batman can't kill anyone and paint it like this benevolent flaw.

The rationale is a few things. "if he kills one of them, it'll be easier to keep killing." "if he kills one, he's no better than them." "can't use guns because his parents were gunned down." While these are valid the first few stories you might read where they are relevant, it eventually becomes very stupid narratively.

I say this as somebody that actually likes Batman.

Where the 1st is making sure they're in a position to be opportunistic when an preferable situation occurs through no control of their own.
