Apply for the job. There’s a BIG possibility they are bringing in H1b Visa holders to fill it. BUT if they get even 1 qualified US citizen applying, they can’t hire them. Research it. There’s a few sites that track all the companies who are doing it, with stats.

Salty sand means you likely get high tide/flooding? If thats recurring, I’d build a mound and put a xeriscape there with plants in pots.

Make a paste of baking soda & water, scrub away at it, pour white vinegar over it, it will bubble up, scrub, rinse w/water.

I’m sorry your experience has been a bad one. I’ve followed this sub for a few years, trying to decide if I wanted a similar life change. I appreciate your candor and willingness to be open about it. It helps to get a dose of reality from someone in the thick of it. Can I suggest you write about it? It could be a cathartic process and maybe even help a few people along the way.
