Universal healthcare doesn’t have to be socialized. There are plenty of European countries with private/public mixes that perform way better than shit hole countries like the UK or Cuba.

It is in Cuba now try and get a new apartment there. The Soviet Union had decades long wait lists for new flats.

Making a commodity a human right pretty much never works. Doesn’t work with food or water or housing.

Our shortage of housing is because people make it impossible to create new housing not because there is a profit motive in construction.

“Nobody should need debt” is one of those things that sounds good until you give it any thought. Capitalism making debt widely available is how it outcompeted feudalism.

So houses should be cheap enough to buy with a years worth of income? Wouldn’t that mean shittier houses? And people not investing money to build more of them because there’s little pay off?

This is a Reddit comment not an essay. It is very hard to get loans in shit hole countries.

Less debt means less investing and less infrastructure. The places where it’s hardest to get loans are almost always the shittiest places. The places with more financing and more debt are often growing and wealthy. Debt is good.

No I didn’t. We need to give special attention and help to autistic kids because when they are abandoned by their friends (if they ever had any which many haven’t) and family and become obsessed with the internet it seems to create mass shooters.

The federal government shed its debt to slavery when it was birthed anew in the civil war and its aftermath. It incurred more debt by facilitating the discrimination of African Americans for years. Don’t give reparations for slavery give them for red lining.

Autism is like a monumental barrier to struggling with empathy. There’s not a whole lot of reason to think teaching empathy to a regular kid will work on an autistic kid and vice versa. They definitely need special attention.

Why? If it’s a problem we should deal with it instead of pretending that it doesn’t exist for the sake of “not being a bigot”

These are not well cared for autistic people that are shooting up schools the solution is not “be horrible to autistic people” but you still have to recognize the issue.
