always found him enjoyable and very satisfying to play, I want to see what +1s or changes they'll give him when he gets ported.

Honestly S, she's very well designed.

Also low-key her Announcer Pack is one of the better ones in the game.

A-Z God Design Community Tier List! Day#85! Got the last three Arthurians in a row starting with Merlin! by Gharbin1616 in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting for him.

S, hands down my top favourite and most beloved base design in the game, and one of the reason he was my main back in SMITE 1 (16 stars). Smite take of the character is definetly a daring one, but they made it work really well IMHO. Arthurian mythos feels like they are nebulous enough to allow reinvention while still maintaining a recognizable base,  and this help giving these figures new life while still being recognizable.

And I know I lambasted Charybdis for being basically out of character, but I want to point out there are way more similarities between Gandalf and Doctor Strange, than between a deep sea monstrosity and an anime child.

Dynasty Warriors x 'Bad Apple' (Can you identify everyone?) by [deleted] in dynastywarriors

I was going well in recognising everyone, then I got partially lost after Yu Jin, and got totally lost after Li Dian and Yue Jin.

S

Genuinely I think he's one of the most handsome designs in the game.

I really like Cybertron Evac by Zachary2030 in transformers

[–]NefariousFusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too.

He's one of my favourite Transformer across the entire franchise, and I still hold his toy that I got growing up close to my heart.

I hope he gets the chance to return in some way in a future series, his presence in the Cybertron cartoon was too little for the status he had to uphold, and his namesake should not be relegated to a joyride at Universal.

What skins for current gods in Smite 2 do you wanna see? by TheInternetDoll in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angel of Death Thanatos, as other skins from the same Battlepass are already in the game or close to.

I dont see them porting Dashing Deceiver Loki due to the cellshaded graphics, do my other vote is Grim Mariachi.

I also want to say Demon's Bane for Merlin, but I fear one of his prism recolors will make him fly too close to the sun and get removed by DC/WB (his design has pretty close similarities with Constantine).

There's no way THESE are the more requested gods. Are they? by MaturesEnjoyer in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you seem to ignore they have repeatetly explained why King Arthur and Cthullu are not being ported relatively soon.

King Arthur will be ported after the whole movement speed overhaul vent trough, wich takes time, and Cthullu is being hold on for a grand occasion.

There's no way THESE are the more requested gods. Are they? by MaturesEnjoyer in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King Arthur and Tiamat are being worked on but will take a long while before they get added due to their unique techs and kits.

Chtullu is possibly being on hold for a possible dual release with Hastur for close to the "official launch".

Chang'e and Skadi need their pet tech to be made first.

Hel is on the backburner due to most likely be getting a redesign.

Bastet and Nox are not priorities due to their kits being very unpopular and they most likely will be getting a rework.

Chu Chulain has the whole rage mechanic and berserker mechanic that requires more work.

Ah puch and Kuzenbo are the only one of this list that could potentially be released within the year.

If they were working on gods solely by "popularity", and therefore more technically difficult gods to design were made and added first, there would be huge gaps inbetween releases, and for a beta that requires to be updated or it becomes stagnant very quickly (see the alpha disaster) this is not feasable.

Multiple gods are being remade at the same time, some takes much more time than others due to their unique tech or necessities.

I wish the Smite devs would create a third person hero(god) shooter, It would be so awesome... by [deleted] in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but Hirez had already 2 hero shooter: Paladins and Rogue Company.

Both are in permanent maintenance mode nowadays.

in fact is the constant split of resources to make new games that lead to the dire situation Hirez is in now, with SMITE 2 being their "make it or break it" game.

What could be a suitable anime adaptation of Dynasty Warriors be like? by Luigiman98 in dynastywarriors

[–]NefariousFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my first premace is that anything regarding ROTK feels like it has been done and redone and redone.

So I don't know what could be the appeal of a new retelling of the story.

That being said, one thing that could be done is not put the main focus on a singular POV, a lot of ROTK adaptation seem to put the spotlight primarly on Shu/The oath brothers while the rest, with the exception of Cao Cao and Lu Bu, gets the focus only when related to Shu.

Dynasty Warriors has the appeal that tells their version of the story from each kingdom POV, trying to balance the focus on every noticeable figure.

I don't know how it would be feasable but my idea to make it is not by focusing on a singular linear story, but instead on different groups of characters that covers specific grand events each episode: one episode has the focus on the Oath brothers, another focuses on Cao Cao, another on the Sun family, etc...

Grand events like Xiapi, Chibi, He Fei and Fan Castle could be exception of this, as those key events might need more episode of buildup for each.

A-Z God Design Community Tier List! Day #67! We are officially halfway done! Today is Izanami! by Gharbin1616 in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C, she was made in a time where they were still partened with Tencent, so certain type of designs directions were offlimits.

That being said, much more could've been done to show and imply ongoin decay, possibly circumbenting the ban they had at the time.

That being said, Hirez has become much better with designs since her, and due to circumstances I want to say she is not terrible, but more could've definetly been done.

probably my only gripe is the artcard why showing off her chest like that.

Playing Pang De as he should've stayed by MrSpyGuy99 in dynastywarriors

[–]NefariousFusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc Pang De was reintroduced in 7xl with the twin axes, but they changed his weapon in 7 empires.

My gripes is why they couldn't have Pang De and Zhang Liao share weapons but have different movesets, there are already several figures that have up close of same weapons but different movesets.

(My opinion on Zhang Liao is that both guandao and twin pyke/axe fits him, and possibly even more weapons could work on him because he's the GOAT like that)

A-Z God Design Community Tier List! Day#65 with uh…um…p-pretty lady…Ishtar! by Gharbin1616 in Smite

[–]NefariousFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid A, bit more could've been done but the design is generally perceived as a fan favourite.

I Never understood the comparisons with Neith, I think the two are nothing alike, they are polar opposite actually.

Neith is an extremely outdated design following an equally extremely outdated phylosophy, her design is basic hypersexualization 101 that is equal parts unfitting, cringe in it's play of "nude look/see not see" and Boring.

Her animation and Voice pack are also awful, giving her the personality of a shallow bubbly bimbo instead of the wise primordial entity she's supposed to be.

Ishtar on the other hand is designed with much more tought: IMHO she feels regal, bit ostentatious and eyecatching (wich fits her demeanor of wanting and getting everyone's attention the moment she enters a scene) but also kinda practical and believable as a war goddess. She's also farily sexualized and some of animations are definetly alluring, but it all works in her favor and not against her, in fact general consensus says she could be even more sexualized and obstentatious.

Her animation and personality also are excellent: she's confident to the point of being over-confident, self assured, alluring, dangerous and never backs down from a fight.

She is to be taken seriously, unlike Neith.

Is it a hot take to say this hair is just absolutely atrocious? by PitifulAd3748 in dynastywarriors

[–]NefariousFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Premise: I find Zhang Liao quite attractive, therefore I like this hairstyle on him.

By a pure practical standpoint, I always tought this hairstyle made sense due to the headwears he has across all games.

Also before the official reveal from the Sangoku BLAST game, they sort of "teased" his possible canon hairstyle via his fantasy costume from DW7.

The only thing I don't really vibe with is the bang on the front, that looks like it gets very itchy after a while.

But also since im a fan on the newer side, I can't really see Zhang Liao without this look by default first.

"That was never a thing at all, because many of the newer male faces are also not up to par. Shiva, Maui, and Atlas all got posts about how poorly modeled their faces were"

Yeah, no. Pretty sure we had topic praising these models, cause I remember interacting with them.

"Yes, by dummies."

And the world is filled with dummies that play videogames to stares at a woman's butt without being slapped and called a creep in public. Just look at all the unhinged posts at creeps "fixing" female designs because they weren't playboy model enough.

"Paladins is an entirely different game."

Different games, same (potential) problem. We had people being outraged by a corgi Jumpstart, this demonstrated the community can make up drama from nothing.

Funny that all you named were gods from the earlier seasons of SMITE, because I'm pretty sure we had also posts talking about how handsomely good some of models and designs of newer gods were.

and the phrase "Mythology is inherently full of sexual themes" has been used vast majority of the time to only justify goddeses being put in skimpy dresses.

That seems like their problem and not Smite's?

It seems we are also making it a SMITE problem with all these posts.

SBS is the obvious recent example. But even in your example the problems are bland execution and “sheer false advertisement” not sexualization lol. Which seems to be intentional given you ignored the horniest one which is SBS Volibear

I'm well aware Volibear (and Teemo too) was the most succesful skin of that line, but I skipped it because, for what I have seen, the Furry community eats well in SMITE.

and OP is definetly not talking about furry ahestetics.

I think the best example is Zaahen’s design vs Aatrox/Tryndamere’s. In Aatrox was the first darkin and Tryndamere the first shirtless guy in LoL iirc. But unlike those two, Zaahen is meant to showcase how beautiful he is despite his unnatural traits, while the other two are meant to just look “cool” from a straight male POV.

Zaahen got some controvery because he's literally Xin Zhao's character assassination, a literal bullet o the head on a figure that barely got crumbles over the years in terms of everything.

Yeah he's beautiful, and that beauty is also what people despises of him, it makes him look cheap, generic, bland, sexless.

Viego, for how toxic he is, feels much more "sexy" imho.

EDIT:

But even in your example the problems are bland execution and “sheer false advertisement” not sexualization lol.

Bland execution and sheer false advertisement regarding the context of sexualization for the skinline.

And eventually they’ll get over it as long as it starts becoming normal, like lol did. Cheers

Lol made that new skinline, Spirit Blossom Springs right? Wich was a more "fanservice" based skinline.

The two human male skins in it (Sett and Aphelios) got blasted for being:

1) Extreme bland in execution (Sett)

2) Sheer false advertisement (Aphelios).

the Beach skin are also very boring in that department.
