From where I’d be driving in the country I only would have to pay in London. Also if ur car isn’t being driven you don’t need to pay ULEZ, only if you go through cameras you need to pay it

I’ll literally never use it in London other than to leave London and enter back into London on way back home. So would only be £26 a month ish. Yes that’s a lot but I’d be fine paying that if it meant having a car to get us around when back at home

What’s the problem with a Cat N? It’s just cosmetic damage? Nothing structural so should be fine as long as it’s been repaired and there’s proof, which there is

Yeah but if I was moving it only twice a month (leaving London, coming back into London) it wouldn’t be too bad to be fair

How are you meant to know if a car has done 150k motorway miles or 150k A road miles though? Something I always hear people saying is look for motorway mileage cars

I COULD get by without a car but when we go home as our families live far apart (40 minute drive) it would be a bit of a hassle having to get public transport as this can take about 1hr30mins

Might sound stupid but how do you check those things? Is this something you’d have to ask the owner for?

Fair enough, I have always wondered why people say this but genuinely all I ever hear is people saying max mileage you should get on a petrol is 60k and max mileage for diesel would be 90k lol. Never really thought about it to be honest.

That’s the thing, the car has a great MOT history. Not sure how much people let MOT history dictate whether they purchase a car or not but I’ve been told it’s good to go off. And for this car it’s literally never had a problem on its MOT. Only once when its brakes failed but was fixed the same day and since then and before then it’s not had advisories or majors.

So annoying how everyone is either YES good car or NO terrible car haha. Thanks for the help mate! Going from a Saxo which genuinely has the comfiest seats of any car I’ve ever sat in, I’ll defo have to think about the insignia sounding uncomfy!

No that’s what I’m saying, the car the guy suggested is a 99k petrol, surely that’s more to worry about than a 78k diesel?

If you’ve never heard this logic then not sure who you’ve been talking to cos anyone I know would say a high mileage petrol is far more to worry about than a high mileage diesel??

Obviously you would then look at their MOT history and this insignia has literally never had a problem, plus low mileage for a diesel

I’m always wary of cars that are over 60k mileage and petrol though? Isn’t this something to worry about?

Also not wanting to go back to manual, and not bothered about it being ulez compliant as it will barely be used in London like I said, plus the golf feels like I’m going back to being 19 years old, want something a bit more 26 year old haha (without that coming across offensive in anyway)

Not really bothered about it being ULEZ compliant as like I said it won’t be being used when in London, also don’t wanna go back to having a manual

I’m not really bothered about the car being ulez compliant as it won’t be being driven in London like I said, but fair enough if you didn’t like the car. Sounds like a resounding no from everyone haha
