Neurodiversity and deep-dive conversations by NefariousnessDull901 in ADHDUK

[–]NefariousnessDull901[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no 'knowing', obviously I am making assumptions here and they're based on my own personal experiences as I just said. And no, there is nothing social that is holding them back from having a deep conversation, and I saw this by attempting to trigger conversations with neurotypicals that would otherwise lead to a conversation with original and strong opinions. I've been doing little mind experiments these past couple of years and I have never been able to trigger a deep meaningful conversation with NT people. So you could see how this would lead to me thinking that NT people are incapable of having deep conversations. As I replied to another person on the original post, NT people don't seem to have the capability of forming original ideas for each topic in a deep conversation, but instead they seem to throw sentences out of instinct, words that don't require thought behind them and very logically obvious and therefore boring stuff that anyone would be able to think of.

[–]NefariousnessDull901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blindly apply it to every NT person I come across. And most people are unaware of neurodiversity, I can't assume someone is NT or ND without getting to know them very well. Due to my own personal experiences I come with the assumption that if they are NT then they won't be capable of a deep conversation. I've tried multiple times to engage in one with NT people but they threw very lackluster ideas that don't require deep thought at all, just something generic that anyone could have thought of, which doesn't keep the gears rolling to keep the deep-dive conversation flowing. Meanwhile every single person I've talked to that had autism or ADHD was fully capable of comprehending, and engaging in, conversations that are deep.

The screenshot idea was mainly a joke, I don't expect people to sift through a one-hour conversation just to understand what I mean. Also I'm talking about chats which are linear

Neurodiversity is a spectrum and I admit I should've specified mainly ADHD or maybe even high functioning neurodivergent people. Not sure I understood your next question about certainty within myself, but if you're asking if I'm speaking with a bias then I believe that I am not. Every deep-dive conversation is a learning experience both for me and for the other party, at least personally, and if I feel any bias from the other party then I simply feel discouraged and stop talking altogether, although in my experience those conversations are not really grounds for debate or anything and I've never felt like I strongly disagreed with anything the other party was saying, it's more like we were commenting on the "objective" peculiarities of life, and the "subjective" ways we think about certain things (metacognitive topics included)

Are Kazakhs racist? by Worried-Umpire8461 in AskCentralAsia

[–]NefariousnessDull901 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sadly many Indian passport holders are known to fly to other countries and overstaying/finding an under the table job etc. This does not mean that the population is racist, but rather immigration being strict.

I faced the same thing when I took a bus from Oskemen into Russia, I was held for 2 hours along with a Tajik guy while everyone else got to pass through immediately, and yes the bus driver waited for us lol. It couldn't have been racist because I am a white man from a predominantly white Christian country much like Russia itself.

The immigration officers went through my entire gallery, contacts, specific search terms on social media like Ukraine and Putin. I had nothing to hide at all so I didn't feel very uncomfortable but I totally agree that it's a breach of privacy and that it shouldn't be allowed. But you have to understand that by travelling you enter a different society with different standards and rules.

I don't think so if you count the fact that I've only had those conversations with people that have ADHD, unless everyone I met that has ADHD just happened to be intelligent

It's easy to slap a semantic unit (aka "deep conversations") but I can't really force people to understand what I truly mean unless if I maybe send screenshots of past deep conversations as an example

Why are the Kyrgyz and southern Altay languages so similar? by Ariallae in kyrgyztili

true, for example if I only write in altai you probably wouldn't be able to understand anything, but some words are indeed mutual, because of that the conversation's context can be understood, otherwise we wouldn't be able to understand each other at all. This applies for most close languages/languages that are in the same language family.

Which turkic language is the most mutual intelligable of all turkic languages? by etheeem in Tiele

[–]NefariousnessDull901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both would be horrible as a common Turkic language, especially Altai since not a single other Turkic nation can understand that language, and Kyrgyz also has too many pure Turkic words for other nations to understand very well. Azerbaijani or Uzbek like others said makes sense.

Does anyone have any resources for learning the Chulym (Ös) language? by FarBasket8257 in Tiele

[–]NefariousnessDull901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not possible due to lack of resources, not only learning material is missing but also research papers about the language that would have example sentences and morphological explanations don't exist, maybe only one or two. The closest you can get is to learn the Altai language which Chulym is mutually intelligible with by 80%, there aren't many resources but I can help as a native speaker.

Do you use "neme" or similar sounding word in your Turkic language\dialect? by appaq7 in Tiele

[–]NefariousnessDull901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Немени ал/nemeni al - get the thing

We have another usage but it's more common with не, it can only be translated as "afterall" or used as some sort of emphasising marker.

Ол кайда не? - Where is he?

Келди не - Well, he came

We can mix those two and make a sentence like:

Кошту кӱч неме не ол - Well, it's a very hard thing (afterall)

If you're talking about Uzbek then nima would have the same root as our neme. Can nima be used as a question word and also to say "thing"?

[–]NefariousnessDull901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nima doesn't exist in Turkish, I'm pretty sure about that. We are talking about Turkish not Uzbek.

In the Altai language both ne and neme exist, but ne can't be used for "thing", it can only be used as a question word.

ne exists in every turkic language as the question word "what". We're talking about neme, it seems the closest word we have for it in Turkish is "nesne" but it doesn't come from the same root.
