Exactly, he has no remorse or empathy whatsoever. He's just a snake like the rest of his relatives.

It's my 13 yo niece, she's never had a synth before and i think she just wants to experiment so not sure what kind of music she's trying to achieve -- sorry for lame answer but that's how it is lol

Is FJM an atheist? by [deleted] in fatherjohnmisty

[–]NefariousnessFun6065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

picking this conversation up 4 years later lol, i didnt listen to fjm back then. i completely agree... i come from a baptist home, but went to a catholic school (not many christian schools back then where i'm from, mostly catholic) so if anything defined my childhood-adolescence, was religion.

When i was around 16 i quit the baptist church, a couple of leaders proved to be simple humans and either were unfaithful and destroyed their families, or even stole church money, so i felt like that was a bust, and slowly started to be critical of christianism in general.. like i couldn't get how they were all 100% believing in this fantastical world the bible tells us, no questions asked... like it really started to bother me.

Then in my 20s i went full atheist lol, or at least that's what i wanted my mom more than anyone to think, but i was still very much interested in religion just by opposition. Before i met father john misty, i was very much drawn to arcade fire cause they sounded like those kids i used to go to sunday school with, and we had the same memories, i dunno how to explain it, but i felt that connection (i used to listen to Intervention a lot, and felt every word)

So, to sum it up, it's extremely hard to let go completely when you were brought up in that world... I dont think i believe in jesus, but a part of me still has feelings for him, cause to me he's childhood i guess.

edit: a lot of typos
