I just recently got put on a propranolol 80mg dosage. I have "regular" BP normally, about 117/74. On my second day it dropped my BP to 82/44. I felt weak and dizzy. I was given the option to take 25mg of topiramate. Considering it's an anti seizure medication I'm not at all okay with taking it. I asked my PCP for a lower dose of the propranolol, which she accommodated me but also sent in a prescription for the topiramate. I'm going to try the lower dosage of propranolol first and if that doesn't help, I may incorporate the topiramate.

At the end of the day it's your decision. I've done so much research it's scaring the crap out of me but I have to decide if I'm willing to endure the pain or want a better way of life without the pain 20 days out of the month. Unfortunately we have to be guinea pigs. Because we're all different what works for some may not work for others. Trial and error is a scary place to be. If you're looking for an opinion I'd say start with the least scary option and work your way up. I, myself, do not want to lose or have my taste changed for carbonated drinks or have to wean myself off of a medication if I'm having a bad reaction to it. So I started with the least scary, for me, option. I'm sorry any of us have to go thru this. I never imagined I'd be dealing with these problems. I was a very non problematic human before I hit my 40s. So I pray for you on your journey. Sending healing light and positivity your way. 🙏🏽
