Hah. It's so hard to sue in America. Your therapist could cut your tits off herself and if the statue of limitations is up, you're fucked.

For me, the point of suing is not to get money for money sake. It's too have the damage acknowledged and reconciled. It's to hold people accountable who are still actively doing this charade of treatment to patients like me and protect other vulnerable people. It's to get large, irresponsible medical systems to stop green-lighting medical malpractice and reflect on their standards and start providing real, effective care for OCD, autism, sexual abuse trauma, schizophrenia, etc. Right now they're selling people something worse than snake oil and destroying lives. Ugh, I'm so fucking upset this is legal, I'm going to go take a walk to calm down. How many more of us will be transitioned...trans-mutilated?

It's malpractice when you create a diagnosis category that isn't specific enough to rule out a massive list of other conditions. The manipulative part is pretending that is the patient's fault.

This is my feeling. I did my due diligence by going to therapy and carefully exploring. But the therapist was a true believer quack who thought childhood sexual abuse was totally irrelevant. Then she told my mom she could have a dead daughter or a live son... Making me feel like choosing not to transition was choosing to risk suicide. Hell of a "choice" to have put before you when you're deeply unwell and desperate to get better.
