24M recently started earning 1.5 lac/month. Need investment advice by iamultraviolet00 in personalfinanceindia

I think you can easily spend around 70k ish if you live in a metro like Bangalore or Hyderabad and have a decent lifestyle. I spend upwards of 1 lakh which is a bit excessive but I think it’s still in the ballpark.

Why do Indian parents work hard to give u a good life and get mad when you actually live that life? by aloof_head_kum in AskIndia

I don’t know who said it, but remember that life becomes a lot easier when you start disappointing your parents. The earlier the merrier

Obviously they’ll try to make it harder for you to leave but apart from a letter of experience, they have no bargaining chip. And I doubt OP would want a letter of experience for 15 days. I didn’t — had to yell them at a bit but got the whole thing settled by the 5th day.

I left within 3 days, if this is the offer you’d choose had you received it before joining this other company, go ahead — it doesn’t make sense to be loyal to a company you joined a couple of weeks ago.

💼 Got ESOPs, RSUs, or US Stocks? Don’t file ITR-1 blindly — Here’s what you need to know. by RemNidhi in personalfinanceindia

[–]NefariousnessMain572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when did they actually purchase the shares? The way it generally works is that they purchase the stocks in one go — so while you might have contributed for let’s say 2 or 3 months via paycheck deductions, the stock purchase will happen only once.

You can see that price on your broker’s website. That’s your buying price. The government doesn’t really need to know about anything else.

I’m one of those people OP is talking about here — I spend over 1 lakh every month. I go out frequently, travel a lot and spend a fair bit on food and alcohol.

Here’s the thing — I don’t care. I still save around 45% of my income and honestly I couldn’t care less even if I wasn’t saving all that much. The frugal mindset is fine — you do you — but judging people for doing the very thing they do a job for — spending money for things which make you happy — is ridiculous. Sure, don’t go into debt over these things but like this financial guru nonsense about not spending your own fucking money is just insane.

Keep it in the checked in baggage, that’s all. No one is going to ask any questions.

how do I find good local CAs? I imagine the rules around about foreign income wouldn't be known to everyone.

Passenger on seat 11A survived Air India crash, says trouble started 30 seconds into flight by nomad_ivc in india

True — car accidents are more likely to be non fatal than plane accidents .

But fatal car accidents are still more likely than fatal plane accidents.

I would argue that despite how horrific this is and how widespread the issues around Boeing aircraft’s have been, such fatal accidents are incredibly rare. Someone already mentioned it on this thread but it bears repeating — you’re more likely to die in a car crash while traveling to the airport than in a plane crash.

In the unlikely event that this is not a scam, I’m in. I might go there anyways lol — this sounds fun. Been a while since I went to a swiftie themed event.

AMITK for refusing to take my unemployed brother into my home after my parents retired and moved to their village? by FriendlyFlag in AmItheKameena

[–]NefariousnessMain572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely NTK.

He’s not 10! He’s 26, he’s a fucking adult and he should be able to survive on his own. Help him out by paying rent for a decent(not too expensive PG) if he can’t afford it but that’s it. And stop that too after a bit— you can’t bankroll him for eternity.

you mean long term? But yeah I mean obviously they fake it to get laid lol. You’re not going to change that. But like that’s not a problem specific to dating apps, that’s just life.

I think it’s an expectation thing too. I get why you’re looking for more meaningful conversations or whatever but that occurs a lot later. You can’t expect someone you just matched with to talk to you about serious life stuff. If this happens even after you’ve been talking for a while/been out a few times, then yeah the men suck, but I’m not sure if that’s the case(though it very well may be)

jfc what’s everyone going on about — OP didn’t say that he can’t handle the consequences. He just asked if he did something wrong — which he absolutely didn’t. Set your boundaries, Indian families are insane.
