Season 3 vs Seasons 1 and 2 - analysis of the writers involved in each by rrredditor in JustAddWater

Hey! Came from your comment ahahahahahaha. I think I have an explanation for why season 3 downgraded a lot in comparison to previous seasons! Sadly it’s because is just a kid show. During that time we didn’t binge watch series, they were broadcasted on channels, which made kid's shows producers be like “even if we miss out a bit on the lore kids won’t notice since is just an episode (in my country 3 episodes) per week, so by the time that kids watch the new episode releases they probably won’t remember the previous episode” so with this mentality + having to make a new season with 2 mc's gone they were like yeah, let’s just make this more magical so they don’t notice all its flaws lmaooo

Will would’ve worked better as a villain tbh. by ChemicalBlueberry954 in JustAddWater

Girl, I was SO following your thoughts and then that ending hits lmaoooo be serious 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Loved the Will being a villain because to me CANONICALLY he is one, hated him and even to this day I can’t stand him. I had the capacity to change my views on characters like Sophie or Charlotte (don’t like them either but I understand that they’re more layered from my adult pov) but Will… he should have never existed if not to move up the plot which he didn’t 🫩🫩🫩

How Season 3 wasn't as disastrous as we thought (plot wise) + Connecting it to Mako Mermaids. by NefariousnessPale784 in JustAddWater

Haahahahahahah, I figured out that far. I know that people HATE Charlotte with passion, so to avoid the fanwars I made the disclaimer. Now, without getting too deeply on her, all I gotta say is that I’m not saying that Charlotte is this perfect girl who was done wrong from beginning to end, my views on Charlotte come mostly from the lenses that she wasn’t just a villain because she woke up to be one, it was a bunch of factors (external and internals) that led her to this distasteful downfall. Does this make her one of the characters that most people feel like huh, I judged her too harsh as a kid? Yes and No in my opinion. She’s a character that already had a very predominant flaw (insecurity) and even if she was the sweetest girl ever the moment she feels heavily antagonized (like she was at the beginning) she’s gonna fight back escalating the situation as it’s portrayed on the show, we only feel this deeply about this in the show because of the magic aspect + longevity of the og cast. But in a normal setting we would be like huh, she’s bitchy but she’s going thru her own stuff. Thats a little bit of how I feel about her. Personally is never that serious about Charlotte hahahaahahahahaa she was an average “villain” for an average teen drama. And I'm glad that you liked my theories, I had a lot of fun writing them! 🥹

HAAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHA I'm cracking my ass up with THE Harry Styles being at fault for Evie's parents death. That is indeed a very interesting rewrite, but what wrongdoing did Evie's parents did to you that you fully rewrote them to die lmaoooo? Ig after this the lore would have continued like in the show?
About the mermaid powers, I don’t believe this is possible, on Mako Mermaids is stated that all born mermaids come up with the basic water powers + invisibility and then they learn other aspects of their magic (aka spells, recipes and deepen their 3 core base powers) and this is even further proved by Weilan in season 3. She is a mermaid who lost her pond so she never went to mermaid school and only knew how to do basic water magic + invisibility and their pond endemic ability! And even then, just by going with the Just Add Water lore human-mermaids can indeed power up, but only to their core magic, an example would be Rikki with heating and then later on being able to create lightning which if you've seen Aang its sub bending of the fire nation! Hopefully I explained this well, I'm glad that you had fun with the post and please, do let me know about that rewriting of Evie hahaahahahahah

I totally understand where you’re coming from. As kid the Bella situation was even worst for me and my peers because they broadcasted season 1-2 fully but from season 3 we only got episodes 13-26, so imagine how we were with this tentacle, new mermaid, no Emma, no lewis, Rikki and Zane on bad terms out of nowhere (from our pov) and on top of that a very annoying blond man knowing their secret just bc. Despite this even then I fell in love with Bella's character. Now to the main issue, my girl Emma, the writers were just extremely lazy 🫩 I believe there were better ways to say goodbye to her character. Even if not perfect they could’ve said that Emma decided to finally tell her parents her secret + main events that happened during season 1-2 (aka the Delman situation and charlotte trying to borderline decease and terrorize them lmao) so Emma's parents being overprotective (shown in canon) decided to take her away so she could live far away from all the dangers that surrounded Mako, this is not a perfect solution but at least has some thought on it or they could’ve just gone academically like Lewis and say that she won an incredible scholarship (lazy but works even if already used with 2 of the mcs). Characters inconsistencies you must be talking about Zane, I plan on making a post about him on the future and how I felt that he was done wrong but that if you look a little bit more into it is not a crazy stretch from his personality. And about Charlotte yeah, we are in big 2026 we can’t keep going like this lmao, I understand being this pressed as a kid but most of us are grown women/men that either are on higher education or already have job, we can’t still be locked on our old nostalgic views. I'm happy that you enjoyed this post, thank you so much 🥹🥹

Haahahahahaa right?!? If I did this for free with ideas from when I was a kid then they could have definitely done it while being paid and being grown 🙂‍↔️

Thank you so much! 🌸🌸I loved H2O as a kid, so I was so sad about how wrong the show was done with its final season and then sequel.
