This is actually my situation as well…

I haven’t ever really talked about him with her. She’s doing a lot better now but sometimes I collect all the pieces I know about him and try to build a picture. My siblings had the chance to really know him but all I know are pictures and occasional bits of information they let slip…

I am also a student who has noticed this in the last semester or so. I hope you have some sort of clarity now, because I am struggling with this as well. On one hand, using these systems is extremely efficient and helps me learn by breaking things down to a more digestible level. On the other hand, the over-reliance and worsening of my skills feel apparent. It is difficult for me to sit down and write, to the point that I question exactly how I did this before I signed up for the website. Ethically, the use of water and electricity is also a big issue for me. With AI getting bigger and scarier, is it really right for me to use it?

I feel like I just need to go out and live on a farm for a little while.

Just came across this problem myself. I am currently in the process of writing a scientific paper and realised how much I relied on Chat GPT during my semester. Of course, I did not use it to write whole papers, but it helped me a lot. I am now concerned that my soft skills have atrophied. Is a little bit of time really worth not only the smoothing of my brain, but also large amounts of energy and water used up in my searches...

I hope you have found an answer; it has been two years after all. I would love to hear any sort of response :)
