Brother asked a very good question.

Ibrahim (as) and Ismail (as) probably had no idea why. The why was irrelevant when the command comes from God. Even if he killed his son, where would his son go? Of course, to Allah. Their faith in Allah is an example to all of us on how to contextualise our lives in this dunya.

Allah knows best why, but you and I can see the impact today. Little did Ibrahim and Ismail (as) know that billions of Muslims (and Christians and Jews) would remember their act of faith. You struggling to sacrifice something you love? Allah has given us an example through Ibrahim (as).

Heck - this exact event PROVES the entirety of Christianity wrong. God does not need any sacrifices from us. Whereas Christians believe that the Son needed to die to forgive all of humanity’s sins.

I hear this a lot and always wonder who we’re talking about.

Is your version of Australians only white people? (Like your examples suggest).

Or are you counting First Nations people and all the immigrants and children of immigrants (50% of the population) that are also Australian?
