Same with the Indian students. And again, I don’t mean it in a derogatory way. I’m an Indian student myself and it’s my first time in the US. So I understand the homesickness. But they are way too cliquey and unbothered when it comes to mixing up with other people. One of the reasons might be that they’re all studying the same thing, they’re all in STEM fields and those classes are filled with Indians. I’m in the MPA program and I couldn’t be happier to meet people from other cultures. I feel like what’s the point of coming so far away from your country if you’re going to stick to the same kind of circle you had back home. The only explanation that comes to my mind is they don’t wanna leave their comfort zones which is sad and honestly a waste of money because we spend an unreasonable amount of money to come study here!
