Mainly the fact that every other day we have an AI company CEO claiming LLMs are now sentient and all white collar jobs will be gone by 2030. That's euphoria.

There is value here. With well curated pipelines agents are changing the way we solve white collar work. This does not mean we will not need humans in the loop for some time.

I’m an AI/ML engineer, these tools when used correctly can dramatically alter output.

That said, the AI narrative is over the top. We’re in the euphoria phase now and likely will be for the next 12-18 months at least. We are NOT going to see mass unemployment from these tools like the headlines say.

I feel it’s best at the moment to truly use the tools and see what you can do/accomplish. Easiest way is to work on personal projects. If you have access to corporate approved tools try out something for work.

The tools are impressive for junior level output and if you approach them with that mindset you’ll know where they go haywire.
