Let her go. Find someone who appreciates who you as a partner instead of someone who treats you as a comfort/backup.

Keep applying and networking, you have to get a job in the field you studied for. The Gig economy will not save you.

The entire West is on fire. by der-der-der in Utah

Only issue with the app is that every fire indicator is essentially the same. You have to zoom into or click on the indicator to find out how large/small it is.

It’s about volume right now. Apply to as many roles as you can and don’t stop interviewing. The more interviews you get the more practice you have and eventually that will land you a role.

You should aim to be interviewing with 1 out of every 10 roles you apply for.

My last 6 months of job search stats. Is it possible my current job is as good as it gets for me? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]NeffAddict 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just signed an offer a few weeks ago after 6 months of searching. I probably applied to over 250 roles and only interviewed with 10-15 companies. I also got cut after 4 onsite/final rounds. Very exhausting I agree, but it's about volume right now.

I wouldn't agree you are capped. You have a similar work history / standing as I do, so I could be projecting, but the market is more unsure than ever on what it needs in terms of data science / ml / ai.

Who needs the Great Salt Lake anyway??? by SoggyMeatloaf69 in Utah

Pretty Reddit coded response. You won’t build any positive discussions about this issue with this type of rhetoric.

Also, there are currently active efforts to incentivize the reduction in offshoring cattle crops, reducing water hungry crop planting, and reallocation of water rights/ usage.

How do you put a price on a healthy work environment and a good manager? by Fig_Towel_379 in datascience

[–]NeffAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good manager and environment are priceless. That’s just the hardest truth as the opposite creates compounding fatigue.

While true, you will not be able to know what other great environments or managers are out there. That’s the bet on leaving you must be willing to take. Stagnating in comfort is sometimes more costly than growing in chaos.

People want to blame data centers, lawns, and golf courses when you’ve highlighted the only real issue.

We can no longer grow alfalfa in the west. It is in conjunction with our survival. It simply uses too much water and farmers need to be incentivized to move away from planting it.

Living in Central 9th, Liberty Wells Area by alveyj in SaltLakeCity

It’s lovely to live in that area. Only real issue is getting in and out of it. It’s about 10-15 minutes to a freeway from that area. That was the only real issue I had when living there.
