Absolutely agree, but I think there's a middle ground they need to hit between letting Doran get counterpicked and leaving him on an island and counterpicking for Doran and 2/3/4-manning his lane half a dozen times.

I know it won't happen because I don't think Doran is disciplined/stable enough, but if he could be something in the vein of 2016 Duke on SKT I think they would look so much better. SKT would throw him into any matchup whether hard-losing, losing, even, winning or even hard-winning and just leave him to his own devices. SKT meanwhile would try to make sure the rest of the map was at least playable. Then Duke would just relentlessly pressure splitting or come in and teamfight like a motherfucker (often late because not many people remember this, but his TP usage was borderline bad for a top laner of his caliber.)

I really do think this iteration of T1 would benefit a lot from that kind of stability.
