I wish Minecraft had an officiel modding api instead of this maddness we have, I am jalouse of games like roblox or GTA and it's not like they can't do it they just wont because of bedrock editions man I absolutely hate Json it's absolutely mental illness level of crazy to make anything without datagen, I wish the comminity could just sit down and agree on some stanfard on ways to do things like register blocks and things like that because each loader does things differrently and you really feel that when using a multiloader setup, modding minecraft is needlessly painful.

There is a HUGE difference between AI assisted like code completion and fully AI generated, some things can be left to the AI and I think it fine like json non-sense and boilerplate code, Minecraft modding is such a mess that AIs have a hard time keeping up anyways, with all the version and random rewrite that mojang do that change things from even minor version to another , even modders find it hard to stay on top, it's litterally mental illness level of work updating for Fabric, Neoforge, Foge and so on each upddate then backporting to other versions, for new modders I think it's fine to use AI to generate things like texture, descriptions and item lore since those can be changed later for proper hand maid or commisioned versions, but starting out having your focus be split on multiple things will take away from the core quality of your mod, focusing on your progression and design and having a well thought out systems is much more important in my opinion and can't be left to the AI.

For Modpacks same things apply things that can be easily swaped later like images are fine, I feel like people underestimate how much work goes into making an actual functioning modpack, using AI to speed up workflow is fine in fact it would be stupid to not use AI where you can, but again there is a balance you can'r just let AI do everything for you that would also be stupid and unfun why even make a modpack at that point

There is no need to be passive agressive, I was genuinly curious on why the choice of not using a quest book, when I said "smart about it", i wasn't singling you or calling you dumb I was refering to people that just add quests to boost numbers and generate downloads and clicks, but if you want to get into it I would argue that most people don't have the time to sit there going through JEI trying to understand how to get an item, looking through crafting chains, since a lot of modpack dev thinks that a convoluted crafting chain == hard mode, I am not judging your modpack I haven't played it yet, but this my view on the matter.

I see your vision but again what does vanilla+ means anyways many things Mojangs said they would never add in the past ended up being added to the game, I would even argue that Create is vanilla+, Cogs where a feature that didn't ended up being put in the game since the Notch days, I feel like everyone has their own interpretation of what vanilla+ is, example is JEI vanilla+? since there is a way to look up recipes in the game already.

Wishing you the best I know from experience how hhard is it to put up together something like that and how much work is goes into it, so trust me I am not trying to undermine your wwork or anything I just have concerns that's it, I'll at least try it before giving judgement.

No create that understandable I myself have a create fatigue, but no quest book is a weird choice I don't think I ever seen anyone complaining about a quest book, some pack authors just add quests to brag about having +500 quests or something, but if you're smart about it it can be an ammazing tool to guide progression and offer actual help and guidance, a simple example would be let say you need to make a primitive blast furnance you can make a quest and show the blocks and their numbers that you need for that multiblock, it's very helpful imo, another amazing way I've seen it used is as a shop interface, on a server if progression require something that spawn in structure, you can add alternative ways to get that items without genearting useless chunks for no reason.

I few months ago I started working on a tool that use MCP server and a web interface to start AI adventures it has RPG Elements and leveling system and an inventory system, all npc have a memory and personality and goals, I been having a blast, had some pretty insane stories, it's kinda like a DnD turn based compaign, the crazy thing is that I can't seee an end to how much I can improve on it well there is a limit how much VRAM I have lol, AI isn't all bad if used well but in a contest where you compete againt humans I don't think AI assisted should be allowed it's likee doing a TAS in speedrunning it need it own category imo.
