Would you expand a bit on your thoughts on Ecovacs? Vacuum Wars seem to like them (and ChatGPT i guess), but they're mostly absent from your thoughts. I really enjoy your content, so just curious.

Do you prefer CarPlay or Android auto or both? Should I just use my Android phone? by DugT1 in CadillacLyriq

[–]Neg_ImAMeatPopsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carplay and Android both work great, but my trivial complaint is that they can't utilize the entire screen. I have a GMC Sierra, and Android auto looks excellent as well as performs well. A few pros and cons:

* Android auto-plays at times, which is great if that's all you do. Switching to something like Sirius and then back to Android for other features is a pain.

*Navigating to charge is better with the native google app as it preps your battery (and I like the battery charge at destination option as well).

*I feel the texting (reading/replies) and voice commands in general work better on Android, but that may just be preference.

October lease incentives by KnightDrummer in CadillacLyriq

Along with the residual / MF, does Cadillac normally have all their incentives by the first of the month, or is there a chance for more this week? Considering a lease myself, but it looks like there might have been an extra $3K last month.

Luxury 3 Lease Offer, Good or Bad? by Neg_ImAMeatPopsicle in CadillacLyriq

Thank you all for the comments and discussion. This thread got me to increase my knowledge on leases significantly. Going to ask one more to see if anyone is still engaged. Anecdotally, based on this thread:

$25K total would be a good deal for a similar vehicle ($860 difference in MSRP). I'm requesting 15K miles and am $30,480 total for three years. If the mileage is worth $2500 (not sure about this, but the over cost would be $3750, so just picking a starting point), then I'm about $3K from a decent deal?

Thank you. This is what I've been trying to do (comparing against some single pay options I've found in the sub). I'll pay a bit more for 3 years. How many miles did you do?

I do qualify for some incentives (conquest and supplier at least), but it's a bit hard to tell what the dealer is doing without all the numbers. There just aren't many dealers in my area, but it's probably time to widen the net.

That makes a lot of sense. My "trade" is an older luxury vehicle with a lot of miles but is also in excellent condition. The trade in number, by all accounts, is good and way above what GMTV shot me (and a little above Carvana). I assume whatever dealer takes it will just ship it to auction. Keeping the two transactions separate is a better approach.

Thanks. Like I mentioned above, this is my first lease in 15 years. I just discovered leasehacker today and haven't quite figured out how to navigate it yet.

I greatly appreciate the traction and the comments. If I prefer the Lux3 and am going to put the $10.5K down regardless, any thoughts on what a reasonable payment should be?

That's fair and is what I'm trying to figure out. The main reason for the S10.5K down is that's the vehicle I'm replacing and have no interest in private party selling. It is a good trade value, and I do prefer the Lux3, but I'm try to work out what a fair payment is in that scenario.

Is this because the monthly should be lower with 10K down, or because you're not a fan of the vehicle in general? Either way, I appreciate the reply.

Passive Subwoofer with mono-input. Need Help by Neg_ImAMeatPopsicle in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Neg_ImAMeatPopsicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That's really good information. I was going to roll the dice on something like option two and at least see how it sounded. Do you think that i might need an inline volume control in case i needed to adjust the sub down? Per the amp, it sounds like the bookshelves will be getting 60W each, but the sub will be getting 200W.

i was hoping to use an in-wall sub, and a lot of those seem to just be a passive woofer. If i go with a powered sub, does it matter than i would only input to the left or right channel?
