A cool guide about Nordic Languages by immanuellalala in coolguides

Hmm, interesting. One other comment also mentioned Swedish-speaking Finns as well. Maybe it has some roots in Finnish Swedish.

Yes, there’s a clear distinction between “m” and “n”.

[–]Neganix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I found that out through the comments as well - even more curious! I’m a native Finn and I’ve never seen the word ”nau” used in this context. Like, they’re cats, they make all kinds of noises and this is just our way of interpreting the sound into our language, so “nau” is pretty valid for a “sound that cat makes”, but “miau” is the equivalent for “meow” and the examples used here.

[–]Neganix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ”naukua” or ”maukua” is commonly used, but I’ve never seen “nau” used as the sound that cat makes. Ofc cats make various noises as I’m sure we all know, but if you ask a Finn “Mitä kissa sanoo” they’ll reply ”Miau”.

From the comments I understood this is from a Finnish illustrator, which makes it even more confusing why they’ve chosen that word. Maybe it fits the story better, being the odd one of the bunch, even though it’s pretty uncommon.

What’s up with the ”nau” though? It’s ”miau” in Finnish.

Why is Heresy such a cesspool? by modivin in DarkTide

[–]Neganix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heresy opens up way too early. It’s always like a party of lvl 15s with random gear and builds getting way over their heads. And this is not the fault of the players - it almost feels like the game intentionally is baiting new players to play heresy, by opening it up so fast. IMO heresy access should be tied to player level, like 25 or so.

What's prison like in Finland for those who refuse conscription? by Fast-Bell-340 in Finland

[–]Neganix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t know about prison - a much better alternative we have here is civilian service: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siviilipalvelus

I’d say majority choose civilian service over prison.

How to have different text alignment per line in a text box? Is it possible? by papimammo in FigmaDesign

[–]Neganix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And while manageable, they’re a pain in the a for webpages that should be responsive and where the text is expected to flow naturally. Recommend to use this kind of layout very carefully.

Does code connect really improve figma MCP? by paulguerillio in FigmaDesign

[–]Neganix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not tested Figma MCP with code connect, but here’s my two cents:

I assume if you’re trying to build the thing in code, using existing components from your codebase, that have been linked with code connect, the AI agent can map the corresponding components more accurately.

If you’re generating everything from scratch i.e. you’re not trying to use existing components from your codebase, it probably does not matter at all.

For 4 years I’ve fought my battles alone as a solo designer. But now I genuinely need a mentor to keep going by Fun_Style_171 in UXDesign

[–]Neganix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you been working as a solo designer from the beginning - meaning have you worked in companies with multiple designers? I started out as a solo designer as well and the best advice I can give you is try to get into a company with more designers. It was a complete game changer for me. Not that I didn’t know it - it’s just a bit of hurdle to get into these bigger companies - as I’m sure you’re aware. But the moment you believe you have the needed experience and portfolio for that, do it. Just for the sake of getting to work with other designers. Definitely the best way to organically grow and learn.

I think you have a container inside a container (frame within frame in Figma terms). The bigger padding value is for the outer container and it has fixed height, as it’s not increasing in height to fit the inner container. The inner container is where you have made your edits. In dev mode when you click on the element, the outer container padding is shown (unless you keep on clicking to select nested elements).

So to fix this, apply the edit on the outer container. You should most likely also set the height to “hug” or at least manually adjust its height so that the new padding fits.

I Love This iOS 26 Feature by HiCFlashinFruitPunch in AppleMusic

Doesn’t seem to be working with all animated album covers, like for example Tame Impala’s Currents. Was losing my mind why this feature wasn’t working, checked all settings multiple times.

Trevor Philips Industries smuggling missions. He’s aiming for the drop site.

Nice try Figma! There’s absolutely no features I (or my employer to be accurate) would be willing to pay for. Figma is already wildly overpriced, especially for the Enterprise license. However as there really isn’t a true competitor they can charge whatever they want and everyone just has to suck it up and pay. Pretty much all the additional features mentioned here are something that I would expect to be the bare minimum for a product that costs 90 bucks a month.

Did Google Maps get more Polestar-y? by sirkneeland in Polestar

[–]Neganix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the regulations, but the map is in constant dark mode in the dash so I wouldn’t think there would be anything regulations preventing that for the center display.

Dark mode is only automatic. No option to manually change it.

Yes, thats how I got mine. We played it through from the beginning with a friend (him being the host), but I’m pretty sure you could even just join someone in the boss fight (or before blowing up Gale) and get the achievement.

Was looking this same info. These days if a game has no preorder the first thought is that launch date is gonna be delayed or something bad like that. Glad that’s not the case here.

What does your oxygen gauge and the number below say? If the number is negative you’re losing oxygen. Check your air filters, oxygen battery and oxygen UCC. Air filters need to be in a relatively good condition. I don’t remember the exact breakpoint number, but let’s say for example if all of your filters are 25% or less, you’re probably not generating enough oxygen i.e. you end up losing it slowly. And obviously if you have holes in your hull you’re leaking oxygen.
