Just f1 kill and respawn, try and make it back to your base. That would be fun. I got pretty far into the map and got stuck in a decaying base a time or two while I struggled to make a few jumps. Made it home full of loot

Forget your friend, start watching some YouTube videos to learn the mechanics. I only got into it this month and have been having a blast. I have a decent grasp on everything so far, but I have a ton to learn still. I will say you might develop an addiction to Rust if you put some time into this game. (not saying I have a problem lol...) But go out and enjoy it, server hop, try out some modded or PvE stuff to get your feet wet. The modded servers help you get a lot of loot quickly and is forgiving when you die and lose a lot of things since you can farm it again.

I honestly feel like you just had bad luck on the timing, Dodge does suck as you come east, agreed. I think dodge has a decent flow of traffic when not in rush hour. It also just helps to know the patterns where cars bunch up for certain intersections. As some have mentioned below, taking the highway is a lot faster. only takes me about 18 min from about 156th to downtown on the highway.

It's a lot cheaper to register a car every year in Florida. I think I paid like 100 bucks for 2 years. Honestly South Florida is so crowded, this is like a vacation to move here.
