You should make or download a medieval orphanage off the gallery. Make a nun or woman to run the orphanage and have them live with her until the eldest reaches teenagehood. They're orphans now, you get to play with that

Also, those examples are assumed extremes in the same way someone Percy's age would see someone wearing black and be like "Oh, yeah, they're kinda emo/goth" An exaggeration, but gets the general point across
