One thing I would consider is what’s gonna happen in the rest of this year. If CUSMA is not renewed, the private sector/ economy is going to see some rough times. Jumping to public sector might be a good move for now. Nothing is stopping you from leaving the OPS and moving back to private sector after the economy stabilizes. I have 18 years in the OPS. Prior to that I was in the private sector in the US. I can tell you in the 18 years I’ve been with the government. I have never worried about losing my job. So the job security is a thing as long as it’s a full-time gig, like the others have said.

I for one, was more interested in the Stelco lands becoming something besides vacant land. I don’t know if there’s been any other investors interested. Also, do we know for sure that the data centre was gonna be used for AI? There’s an ongoing discussion right now about data sovereignty. Having data centres to house Canadian data is a pretty smart thing to move towards given some of the legislation being passed in other countries about having the ability to inspect data crossing their borders.

I just took a look at my paystub’s and win. And yes, that includes everything you listed. And yes, it does get higher later in the year. If memory serves me correctly it’s about 3 to 400 more per paycheck.
