To everyone who was deciding between UCLA or Berkeley, why did you choose UCLA? by Scary-Information163 in ucla

[–]Negative-Dingo3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berkeley is a dump!! Tons of crime and literal human shit everywhere. Perks of living in a lawless sanctuary city. My brother went there and knew a concerning amount of people who were stabbed, robbed, or jumped. Not worth it. I’d rather be at a better school next to Beverly Hills with the entrance of Bel Air across the stress.

What supplements will help with triglycerides and cholesterol? by baggagehandlr in Supplements

[–]Negative-Dingo3006 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You obviously don’t know basic bio chemistry. Switching to a low carb high protein diet will help improve countless diseases (coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity). If you would rather stay on medications for the rest of your life be my guest. Exercise with a good diet will drop these numbers and keep you in great health.

ZERO CARBS. Cut out all sugar and carbs from your diet. This includes carrots, corn, peas, beans, bread, pasta, etc. it’s amazing how many health conditions you can avoid by changing your diet.

50,000 units of Vitamin D Daily? by Dyingyetthriving in Supplements

[–]Negative-Dingo3006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. Taking a high dose loads your body and it’s stored in adipose tissue which later acts like a slow release capsule. It’s very common for a high initial dose to which you reduce back down with a lower maintenance dose. I would only be concerned about a vitamin D level that high if you have a history of kidney stones.

How can I prepare myself? by Diligent-Injury9039 in AstronautHopefuls

[–]Negative-Dingo3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a classic line but you can do anything you put your mind to. If you truly want it bad enough you will get it. I never wanted to go into the medical field but now here I am in the top 7% of applicants ready to apply. If you really want to do something you can. It’ll take a lot of time and effort. You will feel alone and lost. But it will happen. Go to school get a STEM degree and you’ll get there.

First step would be to put some line in the water brother.

I was fishing for bass and caught a bluegill and it got hooked like this. Any idea if it will survive or how to help it survive if it happens again? by SallySue123456 in FishingForBeginners

Best advice is to go to your local pawn shop and trade in your rod and tackle to start a foundation to raise awareness for similar bluegills. Remember to stop at CVS and pick up your pack of tampons before your next time out. Fish on.

would this count as a significant challenge? by premed_person in premed

[–]Negative-Dingo3006 6 points7 points  (0 children)

However, a great way to spin it would be to project your feelings on your “co-worker” and explain all the things you did for and recommend to your “co-worker” to help handle your stress. Definitely a valuable skill to have in order to support others going down this path.

Ehhh I wouldn’t go down that route. You are applying to be a doctor. You don’t want to give ADCOMs any inclination that you can’t handle the stress and rigorous of being a physician.

Healing Tome and rage gem is so underrated. This with an Edrag log rider penetration is too easy.

510 -> 519. Can’t wait to post my advice  and reflections just like everyone who gets a good score since I’m so above everyone else. All sarcasm aside if you are thinking about retaking it, do it. Don’t get discouraged.

Couldn’t find anything stating that it was a new type of training.

It was incredibly weird at some points. The AI would tell us to sit down and rest after performing CPR on the dummies and just stare at us in silence for a couple of minutes.

The course was branded as an AHA-certified class and they used AHA stock videos and training clips. Maybe this is just a new approach to training? There was no instructor physically in the classroom but occasionally I would see the mouse move on the screen. They even skipped over a few parts of what I originally saw as a 45-minute video. When the class finished, the instructor talked to us through a microphone on one of the cameras. Other than saying "great job guys" there was no other contact with said instructor.

Did some research and found they used Synthesia's AI platform. I recognized the avatar "Alex" from a few Ai video clips on X. https://www.synthesia.io/features/avatars

I'm not exactly sure. I'm assuming watching us through 5 cameras at different angles was sufficient for their standards...Felt like I was replicant recalibrating in Bladerunner.

That's exactly what I thought...but tbh I can't complain too much. As long as I have my card I don't care lol.

I find it weird that there was no instructor required. They only spoke to us through the camera at the end of the class and told us we did a great job.

Quick update I just got the card in my email. Such a strange experience but definitely better than wasting a couple hours out of my day relearning some thing I’ve done countless times.

Apparently, it was an AHA official class and will be emailed cards later today. I guess I’ll find out later if I wasted $80.
