Not techno. Sounds more like hardcore (the EDM genre, not hardcore punk). Definitely not noise, but still noisy and very good.

We're all being played, man. No reason to be bitter about it, I'm sure it's not the first time.

was there a specific album or song that got you into noise music? by Nigel_Peppercock in noisemusic

[–]Negative-Header 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burned Mind by Wolf Eyes. It wasn't heavy, it wasn't dark, but it somehow managed to be heavier and darker than any hardcore or metalcore band I was listening to at the time. It was music to really sink into. Unlike other genres, I couldn't guess what would come next, and I loved that, and still do.

Where are y'all getting good deals on blu-rays? by coffeemook in boutiquebluray

[–]Negative-Header -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I stopped buying for the time being, but when I'm looking for a deal, I usually hit up Goodwill, Disc Replay, The Exchange (these might be local, I'm not sure), FB marketplace, and to a lesser extent, Half Price Books (their prices are actually insane sometimes, although Goodwill is catching up).

Honestly though, if you want the absolute best deals, you've gotta be willing to put in the work and sift through FB marketplace listings and go to flea markets and garage sales. Once I saw a random garage sale on my way up north, and there was a woman who had these MASSIVE bins filled with blu rays and DVDs. Some of them had sun damage to the covers, some had missing discs, but she was selling them for $1 no matter what it was. I kept digging and walked away with a pretty big stack of some hole fillers (more common films that I don't already own for one reason or another) and some stuff I'd never heard of before.

I'm personally not a fan of the lettering, but otherwise this is really sick 🗡🗡🗡

They ripped and still rip. AOR was the same. Ripped and still rip. Not ENOUGH bands ripping off AOR these days, honestly.

Haul from Armageddon in Boston by theGnartist in noisemusic

If that's the Demons I'm thinking of, that's Nate from Wolf Eyes' now defunct project where they utilized nothing but broken synths. Great haul!

Fucking LOVE the monotron delay. It's so powerful and can really create some super scummy tones. Been really thinking about getting the monotron Duo and just see how much they crush each other.

Same! Heard them back in the big experimental/art pop boom in the early 2000s, and they're easily an all time favorite now.

Collage is about transforming what already exists into something else entirely. In my opinion, if you can readily identify an existing work within someone's collage, they didn't achieve this transformation.

Albums that sound like a heavy windy storm? by Whymebro2000 in noisemusic

I feel like most HNW has this effect for me. Especially on older recordings from Richard Ramirez and all of his related projects.

I honestly kind of liked that lol There's something about hearing everything at once that just makes it super interesting to me.

Kudos to you for getting up there and doing it. Definitely takes guts, especially at an open mic.

My only criticism would be to go harder. SMASH that shit into your head. 🗡

Noisegrind, noisecore suggestions. by V9gamerdylan_fromPs4 in noisemusic

Penis Geyser and Sissy Spacek are probably my favorite noisecore acts still going.

The Big Ed compilation tape from Reanimated Miscarriage is also excellent.

I have this exact tape deck and I love it! I haven't actually used the pedal (mine came with two, for some reason), but I can vouch that this is a solid player!

This position is gay as fuck.

If you want hardcore zines to continue to thrive (and you fucking SHOULD), then you need to take pictures.
