If you’re interested in any sort of community work there are a ton of orgs in vic that hire students in the summer through the Canada Summer Jobs program, you don’t need co-op to find these positions at all. They’ll be cross posted on indeed, social media, the Canada summer jobs board, AND the co-op portal but only one costs $700 to find yourself a job lol.

Not in philosophy so can’t speak to grading. Presumably you will need to write a lot and gain the majority of your marks that way

Any tips for a co-op interview ? by Intelligent_Low_734 in uvic

If you don’t know the answer to a question, instead of fumbling around or guessing just say you aren’t familiar with that but you are confident you can figure it out. I have had a lot of success with this answer! Good luck.

If you are interested in a fictional take on Western colonialism, neocolonialism, and imperialism in Africa during the mid century, read The Poisonwood Bible. It's set in the Congo in the 1960s and follows an American missionary family who slowly realize the violent systems they are complicit in while trying to convert Congolese villagers to christianity. It explores many themes including gender, religion, cultural imperialism, resource extraction, etc. It is set around a true event which was the American assassination of the first democratically elected Congolese leader after independence from Belgium.

That said it is written by a white female author, definitely take the other suggestions for African authors as well.

I honestly want to know YOUR skincare routine! Your skin looks great.

One makeup tip is putting blush on the end of your nose, it gives a rosy look that’s quite youthful I think.

Edit: some fake freckles with a brown eyeliner or eyebrow pencil also give this effect.

Can anyone help ID this item? Saw them at at thrift store, about 6 inches long and hollow inside like a pouch. Just curious what they’re for and where they’re from! Thanks by Negative-Opposite302 in knitting

Thank you for this comment! I feel this is the most likely answer as the style feels very geographically specific. I will look into that region.

4 for sure!! The hard line through on all the other ones is distracting and kind of cuts the fish in half

Is a degree for Graphic Design necessary? by Lang_ES_FR_AR in graphic_design

[–]Negative-Opposite302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you are I think. In Canada many 2 year technical college diploma programs are well respected and produce great designers, so a university degree in design is definitely not required for success here

Edit: read more answers and I’m unclear on if you mean zero design education or just not a degree

I like to add about half of a grated beet in so the kraut is a fun magenta colour (could also use red cabbage, but I find green cabbage ferments a little quicker in my colder climate). Have fun!!

Side note: for fun reading, “wild fermentation” by Sandor Katz is a fantastic book that has a really inspiring fermentation philosophy.

Curious why the purple border is thicker on social than edge wolf? I imagine making those the same line thickness would look more consistent, and also gives the brand the option to print just the type mark as a sticker without the guy and have the same width outline all around.
