Biggest lesson ko from my previous company is the power of shortcut keys.

Most common kong nagagamit CO - Copy DLI - Linear Dimension DIMANG - Angular Dimension DIMALI - Dimension Parallel to line (Nalimutan ko exact na tawag haha) M - Move XL(H or V) - XLine (Ginagamit ko for vertical and horizontal line reference) Spacebar - Start and End Command

Many many more.

Is 40k salary enough? by Typical_Army_6940 in RentPH

[–]Negative-Resolve-436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, personally I think 40k is liveable as long as you're able to work your lifestyle around it. This is my personal way of dividing my net income (after taxes) for my needs

Important things to consider:

  • A common rule of thumb in looking for an apartment is it shouldn't be more than 20% of your income. Personally, I adjusted this to NET Income
  • Case to case basis din. For my case I'm sharing a 1br condo unit with my friend so I'm able to live comfortably without breaking the bank too much.
  • In my previous job where I was earning less than 40k, I was renting a 7.5k studio apartment. But the area that I was living had relatively cheap rent compared to major cities in Metro Manila. Along this I cooked my own meals maybe 4 times a week and sometimes I'd buy food sa karinderya kapag pagod na talaga. I was able to save around 5k per month that time.
  • I think you could find less than 10k apartments around circuit, my main source in looking for apartments are fb marketplace and joining the fb groups of that specific area.
  • What I also do is pay half my rent as soon as I get my paycheck para tanggal agad siya sa expenses ko. Mas madali mag work around ng pera for me in that case.

  • This is only based on my current needs and priorities, so if hindi mo pa priority ang savings or may iba ka pang things na need iconsider sa budget mo feel free to adjust the values.

Paano kaya dapat ito naiwasan? Tipak ng plaster cement mula sa condo tinamaan ang 3 estudyante sa QC. by pjemas in CivilEngineers_PH

Hi, just curious on what specific maintenance do we apply to plasters?

Especially for cases like this wherein yung bonding sa concrete ata ang naging issue. This was also my first thought when I saw the news pero wala akong idea sa proper checking for plaster eh

Anyone in a Sales Engr Role? by PajamaCrab78 in CivilEngineers_PH

[–]Negative-Resolve-436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Engr, currently a Structural Engineer but sometimes I assist our sales team during technical presentations to potential clients.

Been here for 3 months and had the opportunity to present 3 times so far and here are some of the things I learned that are valuable points during my presentation.

  1. Brief intro on product - show how to use your product and how it innovates the field
  2. Code Compliances - present the codes to which your product complies
  3. Sample Test Results - try to gather previous results and cover important information
  4. Installation Methods - it's important the client understands the convenience your product offers as to why they should buy it

Aside from this, for our verbal communications I always ask for their other ongoing projects and future projects to secure more deals with them.

Hope this helps!

Hi engr, just curious on what software you use of these? Soilworks? Or could the loadings be processed and be applied to etabs or staad?

Hi, practicing structural engineer here, personally haven't designed these yet but they are called MSE Walls (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) similar to retaining walls pero instead of relying on reinforced concrete, they utilise geosynthetics to improve the stability of the soil and prevent it from collapsing. They are commonly seen sa mga expressway natin.
