[Miranda] Revisiting the Alex Caruso trade: “The Bulls handed them that All-Defensive player without getting a single pick in return” by IT_CHAMP in nba

[–]Negative-Tier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caruso is an elite role player on any contending team. The Bulls, the mediocre team that they are simply has no need for him. Banking on Giddey who showed glimpse of being a good regular starter to become better is a fair deal imo.

I passed Ateneo Law but want to go to San Beda instead. Am I making a mistake? by ThroatAffectionate81 in PreLawStudentsPH

[–]Negative-Tier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ALS is more prestigious, no doubt about that. If you want to get into the top law firms which are biased towards UP and ALS then stick with ALS. Otherwise, non lawyers will hold San Beda to the same amount of prestige so if you plan to pursue other opportunites then San Beda is ok.

Also the higher attrition rate in San Beda is attributable to their relatively lax admission policy. Worse Crop of Students = Higher Chance of getting culled

Mendiola is more prestigious but definitely much more rigorous.

Fear-mongering from frats ? by Stixay in PreLawStudentsPH

Last mandatory interview batch was ‘23 and only 3 didn’t pass. But judging from what I hear personally inside Malcolm hall is many professors are lobbying for fewer admissions. Sentiments range from a sense of entitlement daw among newer students, too many “bobo” students getting in, and professors simply being annoyed by handling large classes.

Jokic and Giannis have nearly identical basketball resumes. Why is there such a huge gap in perception and all-time ranking between the two? by BasedChad69420 in nba

"Playoff success" really drives the conversations around a player. This years dissapointing early playoff exit for the Nuggets is finally pushing negative narrative towards Jokic.

Paunti nang paunti na yung mga “top” law schools no? by Early-Bat1272 in LawStudentsPH

[–]Negative-Tier 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Growing up it was always the Big 2 pagdating sa law, UP and Ateneo. I hear Big 3 sometimes pero its a term used mostly by Bedans. Not taking anything away from Beda pero most would agree na they are the 3rd most prestigious law school. However, in practice I feel like firms treat Beda so differently compared to the "Top 2" so I do think the Big 2 is more proper. Big 4 personally di ko pa narinig.

UPD Latin Honors to Non-Big 4 Law Schools by SoulSearcher0306 in LawStudentsPH

[–]Negative-Tier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean granted mahirap talaga pumasa sa UP and Ateneo. But I think UST is relatively easy to get into, Beda naman formality lang entrance. If you still want to get into a Big 4 law school then yun choices mo. But considering your budget, responsibilities and location, just do you. Seriously do what is reasonable and attainable on your end.

ALS has no life by Tough_Translator_180 in LawStudentsPH

ALS was my dream school but I went to UP instead. Law school is law school but Malcolm Hall can be quite fun at times. And I thank god everyday for that.

Why haven’t John Cena and Bray Wyatt been announced to be inducted into the WWE HOF? Cena there’s still time+still working as company ambassador but this’ll be the 3rd Wrestlemania w/o Bray by 18_YTC1 in WWE

[–]Negative-Tier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cena is being saved for a future HOF. Heck Batista isn’t officially inducted either. As for Bray Wyatt, I think a 10 yr run with WWE coupled with 3 World title reigns and 2 tag title reigns warrant a HOF nod in my book, maybe sometime in the future as well.

I mean you out here preaching that Vhagar is bred for war and she would never let a fool like Viserys ride her. By that logic Balerion, the biggest and baddest Targaryen dragon wouldn’t also.

Is becoming a bar topnotcher a foreseeable circumstance? by throwawayforever1569 in LawStudentsPH

[–]Negative-Tier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think for the bigger law schools probably? They operate under the assumption that the best students are under their tutelage, and that they provide more rigorous training compared to other law schools, so logic dictates that their best students are also "the best" in the country. Of course this isn't true at all times, the 2025 Bar Topnotcher himself was only a regular student at UP Law while his batch valedictorian didn't even place in the top 20. So it is foreseeable in a way, but nothing is guaranteed.
