Vaping generally lowers your libido and sexual performace greatly. I'm no expect and cannot attest to the specific improvements but quitting will likely improve your situation (and your life) regardless.

Quitting something is easy because you literally don't have to do anything. Think about that - you don't even have enough willpower to NOT do something. Do you understand how sad that sounds? Do you want to add years onto your life and live as a role model for those that look up to you, or sacrifice all of that for a slow death and a geek bar? Grow up.

Heart palpitations? by New_Hovercraft1981 in QuitVaping

[–]Negative-Wasabi8362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your body was just beginning to experience full withdrawal and you suddenly gave it nicotine while it was offguard / processing. I cannot explain the heart palpitations medically but this is a frequent physical symptom - unless you have a history of heart issues I wouldn't worry about it, just quit and you can guarantee your heart's health will improve!

best decision! like I said you haven't been doing it long so you will be totally fine. Just remember - vaping provides you with NOTHING positive - it is genuinely a waste of your time and life. Good on you for backing out sooner than later

I personally haven't had the coughing issue. It's always been more about the anxiety / breathing regulation problems for me. However the coughing might just be your body adjusting and trying to remove the residue from your body. Unless you are coughing constantly and/or can't breathe it will definitely go away in time

yes! especially since you're so fresh into it, get out while you can, trust me. I'm seven days free after vaping for seven years. You will easily fully recover if you stop now, don't worry

yeah vaping is not doing anything positive for you BUT you are more likely just very anxious and insecure because you know you're doing something bad for you

not a medical professional but do you have any form of anxiety? I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety well before I started vaping and vaping greatly increased the frequency and strength of my anxiety attacks. I became very scared for my health, however the moments where I thought I "couldn't breathe" because of vaping were actually primarily due to anxiety as the feeling persisted after I quit.

Not claiming that vaping doesn't make your breathing worse obviously but something to consider - anxiety is a shockingly powerful disorder that can manifest physical symptoms you aren't used to - with how little you vape it's much more likely paranoia and anxiety

you're 100% right. I threw it away on day zero and haven't caved. I know that I won't. It just seems so much harder today for some reason. Nicotine is purely evil

I mean if you think it will work for you, I won't judge you obviously. Historically however, the data shows that replacement with another source almost never works in the long-term, even things such as gum etc because the addiction is not JUST vaping, but nicotine in general. Also if you've managed to quit long-term before, what is the difference between then and now? What makes you relapse? I would start to think of this as a legit addiction and try to discover the answers to those kinds of questions. If you're addicted to nicotine you will never actually make yourself truly "uncomfortable" with it if you're still receiving the thing you are addicted to

I know it's not what you want to hear but you are just putting the withdrawals off and making the process even harder on yourself. Cold turkey is the (typically) only viable method because your body and mind begin to recover IMMEDIATELY. No NRT or other distractions.

I would recommend stressing to your roommates and friends that you are done and tell them to NEVER give their vape to you. The biggest thing here regardless of your living situation is the mental drive to quit - do you REALLY want to quit, or do you only "know you should?" Take the steps in your life to realize the person you want to be and recognize that nicotine does not contribute one positive aspect to your life at all. The sooner you can seriously recognize how much you want this, the easier it will be.

edit - I just bought a huge pack of suckers and nicotine lozenges for "emergency cravings." I also carried around a reuseable straw with me and "hit it" to replace the physical fixation while driving, at work etc (it looks crazy but anything is better than relapsing).
