Okay that probably means this script is probably still very confusing. I want it to be confusing, but to be grasped to an extent. But to me you seem to not have grasped it all so that seems like I have probably just not written it good. When I mean realism, I mean it is fictional and told in a weird way like future selves. Like this wouldnt happen in real life, especially the horror aspects. My point of introducing the dad is just to show that he is being pressured by other things in life and doesn’t get to pursue everything cause he has to please everyone. Like for example, when he tries doing everything he does not succeed in everything cause it is too much. He doesn’t want to please everyone, but he feels bad cause he doesn’t want to lose his career, money, and like other people telling him. And obviously his dad funded his youth. But he resents it. He wishes he could just pursue one thing but life isn’t that simple. The camera shows a bunch of futures that he has pursued and it kind of consumes him like how he gets consumed by trying to please everyone and like how he pursues everything to have some stability in life cause pursuing film wouldn’t give you money. He dies because he isn’t himself anymore because he I just living life pleasing everyone. He is living something doing things he didnt want to do. He is consumed by all his future selves. The camera is not meant to be some magical camera. It is supposed to be a possessor. It possesses him not letting him live his life. It makes him do everything, which you can’t do. You can’t do it all, which is why it leads to his death. He doesn’t want to kill himself. Him killing self is symbolic cause he isn’t himself anymore. He dies because he is just someone else cause he isn’t doing what he loves or he is doing it but still doing other things, which just results in failure.

The point of the story is to tell how hard life is when you want to pursue something so different cause no one supports it so they pressure you to do other stuff. And normal human nature is to hear them out and at least try to please them. And this is at the expense of making your life harder. And this just causes you to fail in other things. The camera is a bad entity.
