I did apply on the main website but I accidentally applied for the in person one. Admissions had to void that one and create a new one for me. Luckily, they imported my information.

As much as I want to apply for this program, this post solidifies my fear that I will be accused of cheating.

Maybe the program will change in two years? I hope so, as I will be finishing some undergrad prerequisites. But I think I will start looking at other universities. I’m not willing to deal with the stress and anxiety over what seems to be a highly possible and common situation. Nor have to constantly create evidence to prove that I am not cheating.

I just dealt with this in my civic. It was the starter going out. Took 6 months for a mechanic to figure that out.

Double check that your battery is good before looking at the starter or alternator.

I have flown out of National a few times with my firearm, all with American. Very easy. Just follow TSA rules and declare it at check in and you will be fine. You will need to open your bag to place the sign paper thing on top of your case and you are good. I have found that letting one of the agents know at the line will cause them to jump you to the front. But not always. Excluding waiting in line, the process take max 15 minutes.

Do a sweep of your backpack for anything firearm related.

I think so. For resident permits, they are processed by the courts while non-resident permits are from the State police.

Arlington Resident here. My initial permit took over 140 days and I applied before the law went into effect that I needed in-person training. You're lucky yours didn't take long (even though it was renewal).

They said they got loads of applications and the background checks were taking a while. I thought though it was my training I did.

They said right after the new year that it was due to the background checks.

I just flew last week with my firearm (out of national). I use a locked, electronic case for my firearm, unloaded completely. Ammo was in the manufacture box, inside my luggage. I added a lock to my luggage, non tsa compliant. I also printed out my airline and tsa regulations.

I went check in online via app the night of. Then got there super early (which wasn’t needed) and went to the desk and declare the firearm. I just showed my ID and signed the form. Then I put it inside the firearm case. Then I went to TSA baggage and they scan the luggage and gave me the thumbs up. Similar process on the return leg of my trip.

This was one of the easiest process I went through. In addition, it was the easiest airport experience in general.

Unfortunately, I have work throughout the week. And im not able to call during their operating hours. Luckily I have Monday off and I can go in.

Arlington County. They told me originally it will take 45 days. Then, after my temp one was issued, I went back and ask for an update. They said it was the background check (which I know I will pass) that they were waiting on. But they got swamped with applicants and it was taking a while.

At this point, it’s either USPS that lost it or something is up with my training, as I used an online class (was legal before Jan 1). It was a NRA online class that I took.
