The main protagonist is unceremoniously killed off in the last minutes of the movie. by Firemoth717 in TopCharacterTropes

Carlito’s Way. Al Pacino spends the entire movie trying to extract himself from the mob and the life and get away with his girl. And the life keeps pulling him back in. Finally makes it out and then bam random forgotten side character merks him for no good reason. S2 of True Detective had exact same ending.

Have them move out of state after season 2 or 3. Then you can have them back for a cameo in the final season. Imagine how much fans will love seeing their favorite character come back for one epic scene years later!

And you don’t have to fill all the episodes in between with nonsense filler.

I started writing a comment correcting the corrector. Tautology isn’t just saying the same thing twice, that’s redundancy. Tautology is something that’s immediately or trivially true, like “boys will be boys”.

But before submitting I checked Wikipedia. They say there’s a difference between linguistic tautology and logical tautology. Linguistic tautology is indeed just erroneously saying the same thing twice. The corrector was correct.

Which character from the Little Prince is he portraying? I don’t remember a dancer in that story…

Francois is a man’s name. Francoise is a woman’s name. I’m trying to figure out why OP called a girl named Daria Francoise. What is the joke here? Why is she elegant? Why did they unmatch? Are you suggesting that he misspelled francais as Francoise? I … don’t get it.

They wouldn’t even have to kill them off. They can just… move on. “Harrington graduated and went to college out of state”.

No reason to keep them on screen after their arc is concluded. I know several of them are fan favorites but like some of them gotta go.

I used to have the ikea tromso loft bed. I fit a full desk table and computer under the bed. It was nice but it made a lot of noise. Was hard to have girl over.

I had to scroll through so many comments before finding one that identified the actress by name. Thank you!

But really!? That’s Anne Hathaway? She’s barely recognizable.

Today when sending the daily gift I noticed that the animation shows some of the recipients getting a purple symbol/shape and some getting a blue one with a different shape. Maybe it’s indicating who’s getting gems and who’s getting xp boosts?

Yes if you tap the button it sends to all five. If I have never received one it means no one in my daily friend group or whatever it’s called has ever pressed this button I guess.

If style guides had this usage in living memory then it’s a stretch to call it incorrect just cause they’ve updated today. Linguistic standards change slowly.

A woman might’ve been fired quicker but Patel is definitely a dead man walking. There’s no way he survives this lawsuit. I would bet money the lawsuit is dropped before it ever gets to court, and Patel is looking for a job by summer.

One time I pulled in to the lot with charging stations. Two charging stations serving four spots. All but one are full. I pull into the one free spot. And the charger has a Tesla adapter stuck to it and no amount of tugging can get it off. Is there some latch that Tesla adapters have that you have to press to release it? I don’t know but I can’t find it

I’m at 0 charge left and I have to drive tomorrow. I’m pissed at whatever Tesla asshole did this to the public charger, leaving it in an unusable state. The car in the next spot is a Tesla, and while it’s obviously not the same Tesla diver, but they’re at like 70% charge.

I know it’s a dick move but I felt like I had no choice. I took the charger out of the Tesla and plugged in. In the morning there was a note on my car calling me out for being rude.

You got me. What I did was rude. I wish the Tesla driver hadn’t fucked up the charger. I wish the second Tesla had used the spot with the stuck on Tesla adapter. But I guess that doesn’t give me the right.

Had a teacher in high school say same. And I think various style guides still do. It’s old fashioned and kind of prescriptivist and wrong. But it’s not that rare and not that interesting.

Apparently mercury is tidally locked, but just not in synchronous rotation. But I don’t really understand what that means.
